You have to focus on getting to the corners & the key against the 2-3.

Put someone at the top of the key and pull it apart from there.

Shades of Hilton helping to break up the SU 2-3 tonight.

Breaking it with alley-oops?

They did this against Charleston too, but it was forgotten the past 6 games.

We had Hamilton in the middle of the zone with our small lineup (playing the 4). When he was in there as the 3 in previous games, it wasn't as effective without as many shooters to stretch it. Also helped that Purvis was on fire - the zone was stretched more with him and Boat out there, and that left the middle open. He missed a little runner before the alley oop, but couldn't ask for a much better shot. The zone was stretched so it couldn't collapse around him before he got his short jumper off.

Where it'll be tougher for us in the future is if a team is too big for us to play Hamilton at the 4 and plays a zone (Stanford, perhaps, if they are like last year with a big frontcourt - haven't looked at them yet). We'll have to figure out if we can have enough space in the middle. Although, hell, we can maybe pop Brimah out to the 3-point line now. His 20-footer was money today.
