This staff is a goshdarn disaster with getting plays in.

How the fahk do you go from 1st and goal at the 1/2 yd, line get a delay of game get pushed out to the six and still can't get a goshdarn play in?????

Enough already. How long does it take to iron this out???

I see this all over college. Happens to Frank Beamer all the time. Les Miles? Yep. I don't know why, but calling the play you want quickly definitely seems like a skill coaches have to constantly develop

Hard to distinguish if it's a players problem, coaches problem or some combo. The field is contracted in the red zone so the choices of plays are limited. The players are still learning and developing. It doesn't make it easier that the captain of the offense has less than one season under his belt. This results in a team with limited scoring potential and a greater need for trying trick plays. Hence the freezing in critical moments. The good news is it's less a problem this season compared to last. I think this staff is doing just fine with the personnel they have. I'm optimistic that in the future things will get even better.

Well if today is gripe day after the best point production in some time: When is the staff going to stop calling for a pass play on 1st down? How many times did Sherriffs get sacked or the line get called for holding, thereby leaving the offense 2 downs to overcome a huge yardage deficit?

Second half, shotgun, first down play action, sacked. One thing I thought at the time is the play action just slows the whole play down, take the snap and throw it in 3 seconds, screw the play action all the time, attack and play faster than the D can react. Change things up!

Play action works great if there is a credible pass threat. That's why the Tight End play is so key. They did a much better job this week getting them involved. Also they are great for extra pass protection and they have account for the release. Max protection with play action is ideal for where we are. I don't like the Shotgun because the D can pin their ears back and exploit our core OL. I did notice pass protect improve in the 4th Q and BS was getting more time. So, maybe OL pass protect is trending upwards.

I would temper your enthusiasm by suggesting UCF defense and particularly the linemen are not at the same level athletically as what we'll be seeing from here on. They're kinda slow actually. The good news is our blocking issues may stem more from mental quickness and continuity than physical deficit. That should continue to improve but sometimes it looks like the drip method.

The staff is not quite ready for prime time, but we already knew that. We just have to hope they work these kinks out.

IMO, all things are getting worked out and the positive trend continues. Young OL, young QB, young RB's... watched and saw RJ come out to high 5 Arkeel on a TD run...everybody 10 toes in....I am really liking the cohesiveness of the team.

FWIW they said during the broadcast that the defensive line for UCF was supposed to be a strength on the defense. I think our OLine while making all kinds of mental mistakes is showing some real athletic ability.
