I’ve found I watch a ton less sports now.

I don’t miss playoff baseball and March madness are essentially my only exceptions to your rule.

I might have a game on in the background if I’m doing something, but it’s not primary.

I used to skip work to watch ncaa Thursday-Friday’s. Don’t watch at all unless UConn plays. Will never pay to watch any league that doesn’t have UConn in it.

I will admit I scheduled my next kneee surgery specifically so I could stay home and watch the first 2 days of the ncaa tourney. Lol

I have to say UConn Hockey at the XL is a blast. (Full disclosure, I haven't been to any games this year, so last year it was a blast.) Unless we are getting a sweetheart deal, I doubt it is profitable.

I've said this elsewhere but the UConn deal at the XL is just, essentially, an accounting trick to make the XL Center look less unprofitable. Unfortunately, it exacerbates the UConn athletic departments lack of profitability making it look worse than it is. A better deal would be for UConn and the XL to split any profits, that way UConn isn't paying to prop up the aging facility while being criticized for overspending on athletics.

I’m pretty sure there have been days where the football team is in EH at 3, women at Gampel at 2, men at XL at noon, then MHOC at XL at 7. What other schools have to deal with that? You wonder why we can’t fill arenas? Because our fanbase is in 4 different places on the same day.

Adjust the timing slightly and play on campus and all of a sudden you can schedule a marathon UConn day.

I bet the Pack has broader appeal than UConn Hockey. More different people attend Pack games over the course of the season. It's the 2nd best hockey league in the world, the quality of play is so much higher.

It has to be the only building where the tenant that gets BY FAR the biggest crowds does not get scheduling priority, in favor of a team that gets 1/3 of the other tenant's crowds on a GOOD day.

Maybe the Dunk in Providence? P Bruins draw well.

Way OT:
With players on AHL rosters frequently moving up to the NHL and down to whichever lower-level league, even if tix were comped and I lived near Hartford I wouldn't go to more than a game or so a season at most. With plenty of televised NHL games, easy access to the City, Boston, even Newark, Philly, or DC and caring far more about UConn, Hartford or any AHL team, nyet! Beauties in the eye of the beholder, but it's really surprising to learn the Wolfpack only draw under 3,700 per game. Yikes!

Further OT: General question to all hockey fans: Is the AHL still truly viewed as the world's 2nd ranked hockey league? North American hockey fan perspective alone or NHL coaches and scouts' opinions? Actual quality of play? Rosters with future or past NHL players? Despite challenges accessing KHL players or convincing some to relocate based on rising KHL comp, I thought coaches, scouts, etc increasingly viewed the KHL as #2.

I think hockey people would love UConn to be good at hockey as there is a lot of youth hockey in the state. The Rangers are not big in central CT, that's a fact. Maybe in Fairfield county, but Hartford is more of a Bruin area and some old timers still rooting for the old whalers.

You don't get it, bill. It's not the Rangers playing it's the Wolf Pack. I don't know any Rockies fans in the area.
