This season was a failure.

Hurley needs to build a stronger basketball structure.

Don't. Just don't.

This board is too off the rails tonight for rational thought.
Rational thought would have been to shut down Allen. We refused to do that. Rational thought would to make open shots, we didn’t do that

Aspire to win, don't act like a 4 year old when a team plays a good game and you lose.
The thing is they didn’t play that well lol. If you saw any other threat than Allen, you weren’t watching the game. Throw a second defender at him. An alright, high usage, mediocre efficiency player shouldn’t score 37 on us. When was the last time a player scored 37 on us?

God, I hate this fan base sometimes. Completely spoiled by the Calhoun years. SMH
Spoiled? We're getting top 10 recruiting classes for the last several years and all we have to show for it is an upset loss in the 1st round to the Teddy Allen Aggies. At some point we have to see some serious results don't you think?

They went 11/17 from 3 and 13/13 from the FT line. They not only had a good game plan, but executed it in the first half. Only 1 game in their last 10 did they have fewer turnovers than tonight. They played one of if not their best game of the year.

We lost to a team with 1 legit offensive threat. He scored 60% of the points we did as a team. This is a complete failure and anyone telling you otherwise is polishing a turd.

We lost because we played tighter than a drum in the first half, not because we failed to find a way to stop a great player from having a great game. We'll see in future years whether the tightness was a failing of this particular group or a failing of the coach.

This season was an absolute failure. I'm sure Hurley would be the first to say that as well.

If you want to hang your hat on a bloated win total compiled against the dregs of D1 and beating who we should have in the BE, by all means.

Nova 1-2, Creighton 0-2, PC 0-1, and choke in the tourney against NM State.

I'm extremely disappointed with the season. I honestly don't expect much better next year either unless something significantly different happens. I can't even think of what could happen to make a big difference. We will probably be even worse next year.

Apparently they weren’t the right recruits. Ranking HS players is an in exact science - dont believe the rankings.

Not going to judge or grade this team. We KNEW about the shortcomings on offense didn’t we? The people complaining had their heads in the sand. You have 2 guards and only 1 can shoot from perimeter. Get better players.

1) We got nothing out of our freshman.
2) Adama was horrendous the last four games.
3) Our lack of fundamentals / low basketball IQ self inflicting wounds is astonishing. Every game we lost (outside of Villanova one) can be summed up by not making routine plays.

The worst thing is after the Villanova W, you could feel the life being breathed into the program in real time which resulted in a genuine feeling that we have built the program back....now we get to wonder if we have the right coach and the right young foundation. Unpleasant to say the least.

They played like they played most of the year...Fall way behind and fight back to just barely lose. Only getting to the dance is not an improvement. Last year we were a lower seed than this year. How can we believe that there was improvement with that scenario. They really need players that can shoot.

You can have all the great defense (which is the main reason they got this far) but if you can't bury the rock it can take you only so far.

Basically like last year... So no improvement, but not a failure.
It depends on what the goals were going into the season. If it was to finish 3rd in the conference, get to the semis of the BET and just be happy to get into the NCAA tournament then it was a success.

We’ve seen this team play like this numerous times this year and we all knew it when we saw it today. Coming out flat, the lack of execution, missing bunnies, no sense of urgency, inability to let that supposed great defense create easy buckets, etc.

For some reason it’s hard for us to be honest about the obvious. If anyone knows what our goals were coming into the season and during the season clearly this wasn’t it. You have to acknowledge the failures before you can move forward and grow from it.

I should be feeling pretty devastated and a bit surprised that I’m not. When I think about it a bit more it’s because at some point during the season I stopped lying to myself about the ceiling for this team. Solid, yes but they showed us today a version of themselves that we’ve seen plenty of times this season and within the first 10 minutes of this game I knew in my gut that they did not bring what was required to win this game.

We are a piece or two away. Bonafide, smart, Alpa Dogs are needed. This was clearly not the expectation. Call it what you want.
