I dunno what compelled me to turn on College GameDay today - I generally skip that drivel - but nonetheless I flipped it on. Sure enough, I was quickly reminded why I avoid that show.

They were going on and on about some big SEC game tonight and jokingly comparing the two teams to Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Then minutes later, the bottom scroll informs us that 'Joe Frazier, 67, is gravely ill and will die soon from cancer'.

Sad news to hear but poor, poor form out of Bristol...

Sad to hear. Frazier was my favorite of what was an amazing group of heavy weights. Frazier, Ali, Norton, Foreman, Shavers - it made for some great fights.

That's silly. The comments made and the fact that Frazier is ill are nothing more than coincidence. The script was written well before the bottom line started scrolling about Frazier. There are plenty of reasons to hate Gameday (and ESPN's coverage of college football in general), but this isn't one of them.

kind of agree with Jax. and Yea that sucks about Frazier. one of the very best.

The first guy I hear say "Down goes Frazier!" when the inevitable comes gets my boot in their ass.
