Next year is going to suck...here is why
  1. we'll be ineligible for the postseason
  2. Drummond will leave. I know he said he is coming back, but with no postseason birth available and the fact that he'll be a top 3 pick why would you stay?
  3. Lamb will leave
  4. Shabazz will leave. Gottlieb said last night many scouts believe he'll be the first PG taken in the draft
  5. Boat will leave. Why stick around if you're constantly sitting out?
That leaves our lineup to be
Brendan Allen
Omar Calhoun
Niels Giffey
Tyler Olander
Alex Oriakhi

Sounds like a .500 team to me, and since we'll be ineligible for the postseason, its not like it matters.

Hang this guy will ya? 4 of 5 of those can only be from a 10 year old!!! Maybe he's too young to be hung but firing squad will work then!

It wouldn't come as a surprise if Drummond actually stayed and you won't see Napier going either unless we go to the final 4 or very deep into the tourney. You also forgot to add Roscoe and Boatright to that list. We'll be fine.

the only way all of that would happen is if we win an NC and boat and bazz have kembaesque stretch runs.... and I'd take #4 if it means we start:

Calhoun
Giffey
Daniels/Roscoe
Olander
AO

next year....

Neither Drummond nor Lamb is ready to move on. Andre, for all his raw skills, really doesn't understand the basic fundamentals of the game. He hasn't learned how to post up, his screens are soft and released to early, and he stands around lost far too often. One more year will see a huge improvement, especially if he attends a Big Man Camp this summer.

As for Lamb, I'm concerned that he's believeing too much of the hype. He's simply not physical enough, can't takeover a game the way a top draft pick should be able to do, or even take on a defender. Also, his shooting has been inconsistent. However, he's got freakish gifts that few have, including terrificly long and quick arms. He's developing, but I think it would be a mistake for him to leave after this year.

People need to relax. Were you ready to jump off a cliff last year at this point? I'm glad that you didn't!

This may be the best sky is falling post the morning after a loss that I've ever seen. There should be some kind of award for this.....or hanging!

none of these guys are ready to go anywhere, but if lamb and drummond are lottery picks, it's hard to tell a kid to come back when you can't really go anywhere but down...

I actually think Lamb will be a better player in the NBA than he is in college, but he's not a take over the game kinda player- he's gonna be more like a ray or rip in the league (although both guys were pretty assertive going to the hoop as well earlier in their careers)

Theres no way Shabazz is the first point guard taken. Boat isnt going to leave either. Did you forget about Roscoe Smith, Daniels, and even Bradley too?

Your right about next year is going to be a bad year for us so this is why it is imperative we win now and this year because if we do there is no way they can ban us from the postseason next year no one bans the defending champions.

Also, what makes you think Oriakhi will stay next year. He is already listed on nba draft. net as a bottom of the first round pick at 28th overall updated as of today. Oriakhi will get chosen in the draft for sure and he will take the chance and leave as he should.

There are two players on our roster who are guaranteed first round draft picks right now. Neither of them is named Shabazz Napier, Alex Oriakhi, or Ryan Boatright.

I have an even worse case:
Drummond and Lamb declare for the NBA draft and get drafted much lower than expected,
Napier declares for the NBA draft, goes undrafted,
Oriakhi decides he wants to play with Jamal Coombs-McDaniel and transfers,
Olander decides he wants to continue his brothers legacy and transfers to Fairfield,
Boatright gets sick of the NCAA and declares for the draft,
Giffey and Wolf get homesick and return to Germany the day before the semester starts,
Allen feels he can get a scholarship at a low-D1 school and transfers to, let's say, BC

Now the lineup is:
Walk-on #1
Calhoun
Daniels
Roscoe
Bradley

With a bench of:
Walk-on #2-13

By the way, I, at least, am being sarcastic.

I feel bad for the other posters who have "990411," or some variation, in their handles. There are now 4 or 5 of you and 2 of you 990411'ers are completely clueless and I can no longer take any post seriously from your entire group. Quite a shame, I'm sure others feel the same. Atleast Huskymagic went with an original name so he is easily identifiable as the assclown.

Yea it is and its usually spot on most of the draft picks. I never said Oriakhi is a guaranteed first round pick but he will certainly get drafted either late first round or early to middle second round of this year's draft. There would be no reason for Oriakhi to stay next year as he is good enough to be at least a backup power forward in the NBA if not a starter on some teams.

Please tell me one NBA team that Oriakhi could start for. You can either save yourself some time and say "None, I was wrong" or search through NBA rosters for a while before giving a dumb answer. I think the former is a better idea.

They are pretty spot on after the draft or whenever they revise it. They aren't that good this far in advance. Not sure when they updated it either.

Yea, and you or I could post a "usually spot on" guess.

This such a stupid thread. Have you watched Oriakhi play this year? He can't catch the ball consistently, has no confidence, and is throwing up 4 boards a game. there is no wayyyyyyyy he would make a roster let alone backup or !?!?START!?!?! dude you are crazyyyyytown

The Nets start Shelden Williams at power forward who is atrocious. The Washington Wizards start Trevor Booker at power forward. The Spurs start Dejuan Blair at center. I'll take Oriakhi over those guys any day. Oriakhi for sure will be gone whether we win the title or not. You should be more concerned about Daniels who you have been touting as a stud and how he turns out.
