I have two takes about Ray that I like to drop on folks from time to time:
1) If it had been him with the Shaq-era Lakers instead of Kobe, they'd have won 5 titles instead of 3. Kobe was a more talented individual player than Ray, but Ray would've been a better fit with Shaq both on and off the court.
2) If Ray was in today's NBA, during the pace-and-space era, he'd be 15% better than he was was (which, as we know, is one of the ~7 best SGs of all time). Of the other guys in his cohort only Reggie would benefit as much.
