->“Obviously last season didn’t go as planned at all. Very pumped up for this one, this is a big year,” Rosa told The Courant Saturday. “My main focus is just taking full control of my body maintenance, on and off the field. Going into my fourth year here, I’ve definitely learned that even when you feel good, you’ve got to take the right steps and go through that maintenance on your body. Because when you don’t feel good, it’s already too late.” <-

-> “UConn is home to me,” he said Saturday, admitting that, like seemingly every other college athlete, the transfer portal had crossed his mind at some point. “I love it here, I’m close to home. I came here in 2022 for a reason, to turn this thing around, and between 2022 and last season, you really see that developing. I just really want to leave my legacy here.”

Largely missing out on the type of season he’d long dreamed of, Rosa has two years left to help raise the bar. “I haven’t done what I want to do yet. Have that breakout season, really implant my name into this program. UConn football, I want to be on the walls here. I haven’t yet done that,” he said. “When I leave, I want UConn football to have its respect. <-

Hope he comes along. He was pretty dynamic his first year, but hasn’t really recovered to form. In limited use he looked slower, more tentative.

In his freshman season he looked like he was on pace to become an eventual NFL guy. Looked worse in his sophomore season besides the NC State game. Edwards out of nowhere was much better.

Sounds like he knows what needs to be done to succeed and not overhyping anything. Getting to the second level is where Victor can really do some damage. Being healthy and having a QB that can spread things out can really work for him. Just need some solid blocking at the point of attack.

Pulling for the kid but Edwards and Brown look light-years ahead of what we've seen from Rosa. Hopefully he has a bounce back year but hard to see him crack that top two rotation. Then again, we had a three headed RB monster last year.

Love to see him as a slot receiver.
He's a very good running back, but we still seem pretty loaded in that area. Slot receiver makes a great move for him. He's got the Welker and Edlemann in him. I think Rosa is taller than both so he could really make some splashes in the NFL especially with these high powered RPOs everyone is running these days.

What I loved about Rosa, even when you knew he was about to go down, he’d get an extra 2 or 3 yards at the last second, and if he saw any hint of daylight he’d turn on jets.

Hes got a level of Christian McCaffrey to him.
See what you mean on some runs where slant and cut was open, what I thought what other guys did better was decide when to cut back vs. taking more strides to sideline. Not sure how good runners make that split second decision to break off wide run to cut up field but some do better than others. Maybe quick hitters (something like a Army offensive run) up middle might be his best, get by line quick and see if you can catch me (especially if LB's get a little out of gap).
