Not really. It's a business not a cause. And the WNBA is already subsidized to some extent by the NBA.

It's not disgraceful that the WNBA pays players what they do. It is disgraceful that the interest gap between men's and women's basketball is vast enough that a salary cap for a WNBA team is less that the average salary in the NBA.
