Brian Lemelle ripped off a pretty good punt return today...got a beer off it too! I bet my buddy a beer Lemelle would return the punt...he was very quick to take the bet.

I was watching the guys release off the line..usually they get a clean release. Not this time..they were locked on the release which gave him the time to field the ball and head up field. Every punt after..back to business as usual.

UCONN's punt return philosophy and execution remain a joke. No pressure on the punter, not even the hint of a rush, allows the punter all day to decide how and where to punt the ball. One more reason this team does not succeed.

Right before that return there were guys behind me yelling Fair Catch U. I was tempted to turn around and introduce myself using my handle. I'm sure they were Yarders.

I admit that I shouted "call fair catch!" before Cuse snapped the ball on a few punt formations. It was mostly for the benefit of the guys who sit in front of me as this is a common complaint game-to-game that we share. I was also in extra obnoxious mode with obnoxious Fruit fan next to me. So when Lemelle actually caught a punt and returned it a few yards (was a nice return too!), I was more than happy to be "that guy" publicly proven wrong.

Speaking of punting. Do you know that Diaco walked behind the bench where Wain was kicking into a net and took the ball and was showing him how to hold it?

I believe it was just before the start of the 4th quarter.

Not new - he has a tight relationship w/ both Puyol and Wain... Special Attention: Wain Gets Guidance From Diaco. There was a Fuller article (I think) earlier this season about the welcome hand's on the time spent w/ the kickers by Diaco. Seems to be working...
