If you can't score more than 15 points in a half - you lose! Game over at half time! Catch an early flight.

Kansas had the same problem last night vs. Kansas St. 2 points in the 1st quarter, 11 in the 2nd. It appears that Kansas has problem putting the ball in the basket.

Utah State (vs UNLV) didn't fare any better. 9 pts in 1st, 4 in the 2nd. UNLV only had 15 (10+5) at the half.

There is! It's called the final clock expiring.

Yes it would. Maybe UConn needs to send back the trophy and have it presented to Stanford.

This is Conneticut. We should make Geno sit out a game every time we beat a team by more than 40. Also we need to return any National Championship trophies for a participation trophy. After all we don't want to make the losing teams feel inferior.

I still have occasional flashbacks to that 1st half ...

But all's well that ends well ! :D
If I remember correctly, Geno wasn't even yelling at them, but just standing there with a sort of bemused, unbelieving almost amused look on his face, like, "I know that this is not happening because it CAN'T be happening and yet I can see it happening!" It was an incredible thing to watch!

One of the more amazing things I have ever seen in sports.

In an unexpected development, the Irish had a game like that last night in "freezing" South Bend (to quote Dave O'Brien). ND shot 67% in the first half against Syracuse and was up 57-29. To Syracuse's credit, they brought it down under 20 at one point before ND brought it up over 30 again. Mabrey1 was the lead this time, hitting six 3s and scoring 20 points. The 3s, in turn, opened it up for Brianna Turner, who went for 19.
Syracuse keeps that pressure on all game, but if you get by it, the corners and wings are open. Mabreys come in handy if they're on against this....they were.

I remember his brief interview while leaving the court after the first half he was asked what he was going to say to his team. He said something like "I don't know, I've never seen a UCONN team play like that."

Then UConn would have lost the championship game to Stanford when they only scored 12 points. Bad idea!

That's right - and afterwards, he said that he didn't yell at them at halftime in the locker room since everyone was kind of shell-shocked in a way. He was calm and simply told them "We're gonna do this, and we're gonna do that," etc.

And then Maya did some stuff ;) CDoty, too -- and the ice was broken.
