What makes the offense good is that it can attack from anywhere, teams can't sit on one player or set. What make the offense inconsistent is finding the right option at any given time. Last year it didn't matter where the ball went. This year it needs to go to a guy who is feeling it. That's not always easy to figure out or to make it happen.

None of our current guys are bulletproof but they can all do the job some of the time. It's that variance that will determine the outcome. I don't think our opponent really matters here, it's all on how UConn performs.

I'd like to see them ride the hot guy until it doesn't work anymore then try the next guy. If that means feeding the same guy 4-5 trips in a row, so be it.

When Alex does not shoot the ball well we lose unless another player has a career game. It is tough being the lead dog. That was Alex’ job this year and he failed to show up too many times.

Hate to pin it on one player but the coaches told us he was capable of being BEPOY and we believed them. That put him in a tuff spot considering that was not realistic given his overall skill set.

Theme? It's been discussed for 3 months. Our players are slow and can't defend/stay in front of their man. Offensively, our players are slow and can't dribble penetrate by their man. The theme is we don't have players that are 2 way good. No point in looking for data trends - your players can do what they can do at this point.

We have one way to make a run:

1) Tarris centerpiece and Hurley gets over himself. Let him go wild & just punish the interior. Play Samson off the bench or if the other team is a high pace team with a flimsey 5 (Marquette-like). Why you would go out in the dance not using your most dominant player to his max would be a crystallized demonstration of coaching stubborness .

2) Solo/Alex/Liam get hot from 3. We need at least two of these happening. Hurley needs to shut the water off on the Liam drives - they're an exhibition of Ringling Bros of late. I would not want to go out on that, it's been consistently ineffective for multiple weeks now.

We got nothing else in our bag.

No 1 is the thing I never would have predicted. I knew our D wouldn't be the same without Castle and Clingan but with AM coming on board along with Alex, Solo and the rep that Liam had coming in, I thought we would be able to just out score other teams. I was expecting scores in the 80's or 90's most games. shows what I know.
Agreed. I expected our 3-pt shooting to be much better this season.
In fact, it's been a bit worse:
35.8% (340 for 951) in 2024;
35.4% (285 for 804) so far in 2025.
