At least the 2nd half. Almost doubled them up in the 2nd, 22 pt advantage. Even the walk-ons played well and had fun. Everybody but Josh and the Sid no show. Happy to see AG find his shot. Would've liked to see more assists but at times he moved the ball well. CV played in control. Everyone took care of the ball. Kudos to Whaley bringing the energy. The kids are coming along very nicely and can score in bunches. Way to go into the holidays. Enjoy all.

I'll get this out of the way, "it was New Hampshire".

Anybody not blind has to be impressed with the development of our youngsters. Akok is a marvel, and when he begins to dominate offensively he could be our next AA, providing he stays awhile. He looks to be our best player even though he's a freshman.

Our future looks great!

Josh going out really changed the entire offense.
When Whaley came in he drew a defender away from the basket giving Gilbert more room once he got into the lane.
Gaffney was huge in the second. A true floor general.
Really liked the way players attacked the zone. It was almost like they practiced and knew their roles.
Adams needs to realize he is best going downhill to the rim.
Bouk and Akok played exactly how UConn needs them to play.
I'm confident we'll find out what was up with Sid.
Vital is held in check when Gaffney is in with Vital and Gilbert.

This was the antithesis of St Pete's. Instead of opening up lead with talent and then wandering, they had to figure it out and then pulled away.

Hurley almost goes mad scientist when he has 11 bodies to play. Shorter the bench the better he gets with combinations.

Second half FTs: 11-12
And FT defense, with UNH going from 6-7 first half to 8-13 second half.

Down to 10 turnovers today.

Next, back to getting Carlton in the offense.

Wishing all a good few days off.

First half FT's was indicative of a team not mentally in the game.

I was calling for a FT coach entire first half.

We'll know shortly if this has primarily been science experiment stuff. After NJIT, many may play, but the lineups won't look so, "What?"

Yes...34 points from the Freshman today, and I think one of the most important things in these final tune ups before the conference schedule starts is to get Gaffney going. We knew he was a good player for a while, but now its finally good to see him play more aggressively.

Isn't it amazing how confidence affects an athlete's performance? With Gaffney you can see he now believes knows he belongs. Some players don't get there until their junior year. Confidence is never permanent, so lets see if it continues when Conference play begins. Mind you, over-confidence can be crippling. However him questioning his D1 skills has been permanently answered.

Also it goes to show you how important having a seasoned upperclassmen (AG) guiding you. Add to that a Head Coach and assistants being former guards. Helps get you there quicker.

He's in a good spot and surrounded by players who can put the ball in the basket. Looking forward to seeing him and AG on the floor together more often. Love UConn 'more' when we have 2 PGs platooning.

If one thing is definitely underscored in this game, it's that we must not go back to the CV hero ball ever again. Note that I leave open a little AG hero ball, provided AG's heroics come from off the ball, not off the dribble. We saw today what a MCD AA shooting guard can do when he is not asked to run the offense. This notion that AG came to us as a pure point is fantasy. He was never the starting point at Miller Grove; he was never the distributor; he was the sum and total of the team's offense. We saw today a bit of what he can do when allowed to rumble.

Early in the season Adams was primary back to AG. Those minutes now belong Gaffney.
Adams is going to take Sid minutes and maybe get Vital down to no more 30 min.

Chief00 called this a month a go. Said Gaffney was going to progress in to a solid rotation player.

The 10 TO's was huge. When JC stepped on baseline a minute or two into the game, it was looking like game on.

How two weeks can change things. Two weeks ago, Gaffney and Whaley were clearly the 9th and 10th options on this team and looked to be falling off the end of the bench as DH settled on a more traditional 8-man rotastion. Today they are part of new first eight, with Adams and Wilson at the end of the bench. It is a stronger, more viable, first eight, since it includes the necessary back-up center (Whaley) and the necessary back-up point (Gaffney). Fact is, in Gaffney we have a new starting point in the making, with AG likely to see more minutes at shooting guard. where he probably belongs. Things, I submit, are indeed shaping up as they should.

Adams over Sid. But nonetheless Gaffney has been pure from 3 the past few games. Was he perfect today or did he miss 1 shot I forget
