Not exactly. I would say if they made a trade that made their team significantly better, than yes I would be wrong. As @Matrim55 pointed out, they have a $4-5 million trade exception so they could trade Anderson or James Jones and get someone in the $5-6 million range. I don't think there are impactful players in that salary range that a) significantly improve your roster b) teams are willing to give up....if they would in fact significantly improve your roster (why would a team give up an impactful player making $6 million; if they were just getting Chris Anderson in return, because as I said in another post, they do not have 1st rd draft picks to trade. Correct Korver, Jones, and Anderson are off the books next year. However once again, as I said in another post, they just traded for Kyle Korver and they gave up a first rounder. So why would they flip him, considering they gave a draft pick, he's cheap, and fills a need (especially with JR down) So that leaves us with Jones and Anderson. The Cavs could trade these two guys and their trade exception for a $5-6 million dollar player. This is where @Matrim55 and I disagree. I don't think LBJ was talking about someone like Shelvin Mack or Mario Chalmers (working out for them) when he said "playmaker", but who knows what he meant. So you were right- Maybe I exaggerated when I said 95% is untradeable, they have 2-3 guys they could trade. I apologize. My point was, I don't think they can get a player of the caliber that I think LBJ was talking about. Once again, who knows what kind of caliber player he was talking about, I made my own assumption as well as the rest of the sports world.
