The View From Section 241 — Buffalo

It may be beyond your processing ability but ESPN + was UConn’s Football’s exposure platform yesterday for building the brand and program. That’s the key point, and not who holds the TV contract, which is known before hand and a 3:30pm game between UConn and Buffalo likely destination is ESPN+ with that contract not ESPN1 or ESPN2.

You clearly don’t understand anything about how this works do you.

One thing that could of really bitten us but wasn't called is a player kicking the ball. We had just stopped them and the ball was lying on the field and one of our DBs kicked it out of bounds. That is a 15 yard unsportsman penalty if the ref wants. Dumb thing to do. It could have been huge and very bad. Shouldn't happen.

Time Zones are beyond your comprehension?
Do you seriously want to revisit the 11:11 discussion? Unfortunately for you…I saved your post on this because I knew you would always spin what happened….it wasn’t about time zones…you acted as if you had inside information that the AAC agreed to 11:11 start times. You were proven to be wrong…and of course you never just took the “L”..you are still fighting this until this day.

“Did not realize it was not public knowledge yet but the AAC will have pre noon games.

Quite frankly, the TV guys already know the times - see below link. Navy, South Fl and Houston have 11:11,am starting times - sure these could change due to some factor but probably unlikely.

Trying to break this to you gently - this is the time unless something unusual happens

The CBS schedule is consistent with the TV contract and is precisely specific 11:11am - true it's subject to change - but not likely for these games

The same holds true for TBD for football - there may not be a 100% guarantee that's the time due to teams that surprise and challenge for league titles - but the TV contracts are understood in terms of time slots and the AAC's is 11am

I have never seen so many people in denial of reality - It's 11:11am - subject to change of course - but not likely!”

…says the guy who processed an 11:11 kickoff as literal.

Your take is also incorrect. UConn needed to essentially give away an away game to a likely streaming opponent to get home inventory, which they actually control.

Your take is also insane, given we’re scheduling as an independent. Unless you’re suggesting 12 home games, we need to play away games against opponents that are certain or likely streaming, unless you want to take away these conferences totally:
MAC
AAC
Sun Belt
CUSA
…plus the streaming component of P5s (like Cuse already this year)

Give us a prospective schedule, if you can process that.

What?

The RB coach doesn't call plays. Rosa fumbles and runs into his blockers. UConn was the visiting team. MAC has a contract with ESPN and we don't.
This is the level of accuracy and understanding many posters in this thread possess. Victor Rosa has zero fumbles in his UConn career and if he runs into his blockers - keep doing what you are doing because he has never average less than 4.5 yards per carrier in his UConn seasons.

And yet he's been 4th string the past two seasons. Bad things happen when he has his hands on the ball.

I don’t know what you don’t understand about time zones - you play checkers when a smarter approach is to understand the time impacts on both team’s fanbases TV audiences and play chess.

No wonder given this silly thinking many here aren’t capable of moving beyond, we are not in the large group of schools from the old Big East and AAC that are now in a major conference.

Your take is just stupid. You can’t get your thinking out of your living room time zone. Unfortunately too often UConn has been hurt by this type of simplistic thinking. The World is bigger than your limited provincial thinking.

FWIW here are the actual numbers (6 fumbles, 4 lost)

2022: 4 fumbles, 2 lost (Michigan (2-1), Ball State (1-1), Army (1-0)) - 12 games played
2023: 2 fumbles, 2 lost (USF (1-1), James Madison (1-1)) - 11 games played
2024: None (redshirted) - 5 games played
2025: None (penalty on play negated)

You were incorrect about him fumbling / he has zero in his career. And what you said just proved my point. So TD’s and a 4.5 yards + per carry are “bad things”? Like so many posters here you embarass yourself.
The problem hasn’t been Victor’s performance but his number of touches. Yes, the RB coach doesn’t call the plays but he plays a crucial role determining the rotation of RB’s at that position. Plays are by positions not particular players.

This has been debunked above. I'm so sick of Victor's little pack NVL fanboys crying about his lack of touches.

Look at the posts above - he’s fumbled 4 times here in his career

I like the kid, but at this point I think the Swedish RB Coleman should be getting more carries than Rosa. I know he fumbled once yesterday too, but I like the way he runs

Despite ESPN’s fumble error, my football point is valid. 17 TD’s and 4 fumbles loss in his career. He also averaged 4.8 yards a carry. How that’s a “bad” thing is ridiculous.

So 4.8 yards a carry and 17 TDs on 281 carrys is a “bad”’performance? He neither has a fumble lost issue or a following his blocker issue at 4.8 yards per carry. All your initial points were wrong.

what the heck are you even talking about. Your stunning inabilty to grasp the obvious is amazing. You lied in a post years ago about having inside knowledge on scheduling (not the first time you lied about having inside knowledge)…and now somehow it’s about time zones? It was never about time zones.

You consistently show that you are dishonest…and don’t understand the basics of how scheduling is done.

Your posts when you attack are 100% projection.

I recognize all that from the start. I think it’s short sighted to schedule numerous games that are likely to be on streaming/web. That’s not how you built a brand and a fanbase. CBS Sports Network is fine for home games but you need to think more strategically than just home games. About 1/2 our games are away. The TV filter needs to be constructed in your scheduling process regardless what team holds the actual contract.
You understand that we can only schedule teams that are willing to schedule us?

He’s fumbled 6 times. That’s a lot of fumbles. Not good.
