The thing I like most about Sarah Strong

There is an awful lot to like about Sarah Strong's game...pretty much everything (except for 3 pt shooting -- for now). But the thing I like most, after suffering for years of watching our players miss bunny after bunny, is the way she finishes around the rim. She seldom looks rushed, finishes through traffic and contact, and places the ball off the backboard with a nice soft touch. I especially like when she extends her arm to full length to keep the ball away from the defender and yet still manages to flick the ball softly off the board at the last moment. Here's to many, many more -- and some 3 pointers, as well...

I will just go though with her composure and poise. She really looks like a senior out there, handling every thing thrown at her with ease.

it's really hard to come up with what i like most about Sarah Strong as i like everything about her game (aside than the 3 pointers making, which i'm sure will come and soon).
How do you choose between her amazing hands, ridicules high basketball IQ, defense on a high level, ability to score from all 3 levels, makes her layups, incredible poise, etc.
Probably the most impressive thing for me about her is that she seems (like the very rare players) to see things before they happen on the court which is what makes her a great passer.

What I like about SARAH is that she was ready from day one.Stated above was said" she is playing like a senior" and that is what I mean. SARAH will be on the wall at UCONN as well as PAIGE who is a no brainer.. There are other candidates that are wall possibles that will surprise the Boneyard. This team has the possibility to equal the team of 2014-2015. Remember, I'm the anything is possible guy Next 12. GO FRESHMEN!!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!

In high school, Sarah often played a full court press. She was one of the trappers on the sideline. A guard would force the opposing player toward the side and then Sarah would steal the ball with those "lightning quick hands." She also got a lot of steals in the open court, as well as in the paint. If she can get a finger on the ball, it's all over.

She gives me the same calm feeling I use to get from watching Morgan Tuck and Napheesa at UConn. Never rushed or loss of composure. I also love all the things she can do guard like with a frame like that. Positionless.

Sarah has such a calm demeanor on the court. And her BB IQ is up there with Paige's.

And those worrying about her 3 point shooting percentage. She was pretty good last night going 4 - 5!!

It is going to be very interesting to see how teams deal with Sarah. Can't double team her. If teams do, that opens things up for Paige, Azzi and company. Teams will have to pick their poison.

Sarah has some Maya Moore traits—super calm demeanor, high basketball IQ, a wide range of solid fundamentals. She’s a joy to watch, and much like Collier/Tuck, seemingly quiet in her contributions.

Her quick hands/timing is my favorite part of her game. Woe to any player that dribbles near her.

Well said. I love the way Sarah can finish around the basket. Somebody said it best in the chat room yesterday during the Holy Cross game, Sarah has that Moses Malone mindset around the glass. She rebounds with authority. She has quick reflexes, so she is able to get her missed shots before anyone reacts to it. Her footwork is only going to get better. She is going to be a special player.

What I like about Sarah is that she hasn't shown any signs that the stage is too big for her. She is so good in all aspects of her game. She never looks confused or unsure of herself.

I’ve noticed that, she’s one of the calmest shot blockers I’ve ever seen. Just a tap. No celebration. No shout. A very down to earth defensive play.

Sarah has unique composure. She plays like a veteran, and undoubtably she has played a lot of basketball.
Here soft touch is a sign or her comfort with the game. Better conditioning, which will come over the yrears, will make her unstopable.
She is a truely unique player and will be remembered as one of the greats.

I get the strong sense ( pun intended ) that she is a 100% team player every minute she is on - and off - the court.

What I most like (a very difficult choice as she is so gifted in so many ways) about Sarah's game is one I doubt many will have picked up on. For as many years as I have followed UCONN wbb, Geno has been consistent in stressing that his players "keep their hands up on defense!!!" But I have noticed that Sarah doesn't do that. She keeps her hands low, around waist level nearly all the time. And, in thinking about it, that is the level the ball is at for the bulk of the time as opponents dribble the ball or often hold it preparing to pass or even sometimes preparing to shoot on scoop shots. So, it isn't surprising to me that with Sarah keeping her hands where the opponents' keep the ball the bulk of the time, she is leading the team in steals! It certainly helps that she has amazingly quick hands but when those quick hands are already at the same level as the ball, good things happen! She has nearly a quarter of all the teams' steals and leads Paige in both total steals and also on a per-40 basis.

Always has a calm look and demeanor even after hitting 2 or 3 big shot in a row She's a baby-face assassin and quickly becoming one of mine and my daughters favorite players in all of WCBB And WNBA. She's definitely living up to her #1 ranking and then some, sooo happy she chose UConn!!!
