Rules are different for a catch in the end zone - have to have possesion and then make a football move (whaterverTF that is) and he was instantly stripped. Correct call, but I hate the rule. If you catch in the endzone and then lose control hitting the ground, no TD. If you catch at the one, and break the plane then lose control hitting the ground, TD. Dumbest extra rule they ever added. It shouldn't be different in the end zone.

EVERY Break in the world to a team that only made the playoffs this year because the Cowboys and Redskins and Eagles sucked even worse. If there was ANY justice the two sucko teams that made the playoffs to the embarassment of the NFL, the Denver Broncos and the Giants would play in the SUCKO BOWL and the winning team would get a case of Bud or Bud Light and a token to Chucky Cheese. The GREED of all major sports to allow half ass teams to make the playoff mitigates the reason for a regular season which means NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hockey, Baseball, Football and Basketball continually reward teams that have no business to be in any playoff system the potluck of getting hot or maybe even buying off some officials or allow flukes to determine the CHAMPION. This sounds like the recurring argument against last years NC on the Cuse board. Sorry friend but the beauty of sports and life is that no matter how low you sink, there is still glory to be found in rising from the ashes. The season is the same number of games for everyone. Within that lies the strategy of improving so that you are playing your best ball when it counts. Doing just enough to make the elimination rounds is sound team management if it means enduring failure to grow towards a higher success.

Hmmm. Team with .500 record wins 5 do-or-die games in a row against increasingly challenging competition, and eventually gets to play in the Championship game. Sounds vaguely familiar . . .but I guess it only matters if a team does it two times in a row before the final game.

Wild Cards and other questionable playoff structures simply confirm that regular seasons are for team development and ad space sold to get the attention of people otherwise unoccupied with life's rich pageant elsewhere. I'm thankful that I had other, better, things to do with my (mostly) Sundays, but felt free to watch the Giants lose to San Francisco and beat the Patriots, and then close out December with a healthier squad when the weather got colder and time in front of the TV didn't seem so wasteful.
