Not to change the subject but whatever happened to Boeing Brown? A year back or so he was going to be the next big thing, everyone was interested in him. I haven't heard his name in ages. Amazing how things change so quickly.
I feel bad for the kid and his family. He was on radars but no offers. Two-star recruit. He should land somewhere, I hope.

Last I heard he was walking on at UCF after turning down 20 or so offers.

FCS offers? That doesn't make any sense. If you can play, the next level will find you. And going on schollie makes the program more invested in wanting you to succeed. Somebody talk to that kid.

True, but I hope Boyle is the goods. JC didn't take Travis Best after KO committed. And Best was local, and the better player.
Thank God for that. Who would be coaching our team right now? Best? I don't think so.

Figure it out. If Lagolw was so important, such a huge program changer, why risk him by taking Boyle? Why immediately ad Kiren as soon as Lagow hesitated??

All the evidence says that the staff had Boyle at the top of their QB board. When they got Boyle, they added a different type of QB, a dual-threat. They got their man. Is there any other way to read the situation?

Take a deep breath, let it go.

The guy quit on UCONN.

I can only think of a few reasons-

1) He knows that he isn't as good as Boyle. He's seen the film online and knows when someone is better. I can undertand it - the QB's job is to win games and Lagow went 5-6 last year. Boyle won multiple championships. Now if UCONN was in a 7-7 league, I'd go with Lagow.

2) He's a prima donna thought he was so special that UCONN would do anything to get him and make sure he played right away. His feelings were hurt when he found out he wasn't so special.

3) There is some personal issue with Family or snow phobia that is keeping him away.

He never played a down for us, never got a first down, never completed a pass, never won a game.

He can play in the 2021 SuperBowl against Nebrich for all I care.

When did Boyle become a dual-threat QB? That is exactly why he did not go to BC and chose the offense he did. Of course he can run if he has to but that is not his forte.

If the coach of an NFL conference champion just follows through on what he says and goes on production, Nebrich is a luck for a Super Bowl.

Maybe we will find out the story or maybe not. Time to move on.

HM... Taylor is never mentioned in the post.
The exact sentence reads. When they got Boyle, they added a different type of QB, a dual-threat. They got their man.
Not always able but I try to keep up...My bad for not reading between the lines. Hard to understand Pal or anyone thinking PP wants a dual threat QB.
This may work for the scout team but not his future position if he stays here.
I think he was brought in as an athlete , but what do I know....
You are right I have to keep up....I will work hard at it......

Hence, me saying I hope the Staff got it right. But all you can do in recruiting is make your judgments and then go after the guys you want. You will always make recruiting decisions that, in hindsight, you'd like to do over.

Ollie turned out better in the long run so I disagree with your statement. I know Howie wanted Ollie badly and Calhoun wanted Best. Ollie came in and sold himself to Calhoun. Best was a good scorer but Ollie was a better overall complete player.

It's not a matter of wrong per se, but they did recruit over the guy. Did they tell him that they wouldn't? It would go to credibility.
Really? Did someone offer Lagow no competition for 4 years? Nothing against him, but if he can't handle competition who did he think he was going to play for?
