I was at that game. the passing we had going on was amazing. But that one where the ball never hit the floor was stunning. We were whooping it up and there were St. Johns alum near us looking at us like it was the opera and we were making too much noise. They left early.Len Elmore anecdote: 1999 Big East title game, UConn putting an game-opening blitz on a really good St. John's team. In the midst of one of the signature plays of the year -- Hamilton rebound, to Ricky, to Khalid, to Freeman on the lob for the dunk, ball never touches the floor -- Elmore is blabbing through the entire play as Mike Tirico breaks in with a "Freeman on the fly!" when he slams it in. Nice to see Elmore is just as bad 16 years later.
