Wow, could anything else bad happen? We've had JC's health issues and suspension; the Big East falling apart like the Berlin Wall; the APR mess; Boatright's suspensions, mutliple blown double-digit leads and who knows what else. Did I miss anything?

Thank God for last season or the wagon would have tons of empty seats.

My concern is that with the exception of our run in the BE and NCAA tournaments last year, UCONN Men's basketball has almost been unwatchable for the past three seasons. I've stopped watching halfway through games more this year than I have in the last 30 years. I want the program to get back to a place where the team is fun to watch. I don't expect them to win all of the time but I do expect the players to care all of the time.

Please stop watching altogether, thanks!

Why do think that is? Is it a function of style or coaching or the type of player? I've thought about this often and I can't come up with a clear cut answer. Take last years team: up until the great run, they were tough to watch and then, suddenly, they were fun again.

Based on what I am reading today, it's not just me. The program stands to lose fan support if people decide they are not worth the effort to watch. In pro sports, what happens when the team stops being popular- changes. In college, people like you tell people like me, okay stop watching. I'm not a lemming. I care about the program and want to watch good basketball during the long winter months.

You couldn't watch last year? That 32 win team that started the season 17-2? If you think that last year's team did not play with heart or were not fun to watch, I'm not sure what to tell you. Its funny how you note with the exception of the BE and NCAA tournaments - the best part and only part of the season that matters.

I thought Maui was fun to watch too, maybe that's just me though.

I'm actually more concerned about the deterioration of the Big East than about our performance this year. You can't have a national power if your league is not national caliber. Losing Syracuse and Pitt is far worse than losing to them, IMO.

Last year's run was the greatest thing I have ever experienced in sports. I get what you are saying about the team being difficult to watch though. If you look at the BE standings you will see at least 8 teams whose fan base is having a tough time watching, and on any given night can win or lose to anyone. There is a lot of parity in our league, mediocre parity that is, and our coaches and players obviously haven't figured out our mediocrity.
