The Road Game Against St. John's Moved to MSG.

Tempting, but I'll hunker down in front of the living room television for that one. Kinda wish for the old days of fans (booster clubs) going down on buses........

Just purchased 2 tix on Vivid in the lower section-baseline for just under $200 each. That’s more than I would have preferred to pay, but a lot less than along the sidelines where they’re starting at $500 each.
Perfect for watching a full half of our full court press. Hopefully Geno runs the Diamond and you can see Blanca at the point during the right half. When I had floor seats at USF, I watched Blanca carefully. So deceptively long and fast. Very impressive.

Presale tickets go on sale TODAY at 12:00 EST, with presale code (all caps) STJHOOPS through your Ticketmaster account. After last night’s game, you might say “why bother going to NYC, I’ll watch it on TV (or streaming, etc.). That mindset will doom this from happening again. If you have the ability, if it isn’t crazy expensive, and you are fairly close, go and have a great time in the city!

Purchased my tix weeks ago and just booked my hotel. Looking forward to visiting my old stomping ground in the Big Apple.

Why towards the end of his life, John Wooden's favorite basketball team was the UConn women!
I love Geno's story that he was so impressed and pleased when Coach Wooden told him that end that he was a fan of the way Geno coached the game. Sometime later they met again and Geno was looking forward to talking to him. When Geno went up to him, Coach Wooden said "nice to meet you" apparently having no recollection of their prior conversation.

I just got a pair of tix in the lower bowl for the game online for $132.20 (including fees), using the STJHOOPS code!
Let's fill the place up!
I like the optimism but MSG holds 19,763 people and I highly doubt fans want to spend $132.20 so, SJU needs to lower their fees. Considering they are averaging a pathetic 644 people per game....

I like going to see games in Walsh. Small courts like that have their own charm. It reminds me of the era where teams all had their own small little band boxes.

That said, it has become increasingly more difficult to get tickets. The Prudential center is nice, but definitely a different experience. FYI, if the games ever do get moved to the Rock, building the time to go and eat in Newark Ironbound section. It's a short, reasonably safe, walk from the arena and the food is amazing, albeit a little bit pricey, depending on which place you go to.
Very easy to get tickets to the UConn Seton Hall game at Walsh........buy Seton Hall season tickets and you're guaranteed a seat and the price for a season ticket is far less than the secondary market price for the UConn game itself......you can either go to some of the other Seton Hall games or give away or sell the extraneous tickets.....I do this every year.....

Do you think they set the ticket prices or does MSG?

Think they might want to reconsider after last night?

I love Walsh. My only problem is driving through rush hour traffic to get thete.

If I remember from last year when the game was played on campus, the tix were $50 each. The difference seems to be the extra processing fee for MSG (i don't know whether MSG, ticketmaster, St John's or a combination of the 3 are collecting the extra fees).

Let's give the legend some grace. Could it be that Geno didn't look exactly the same when they met again? Look at Geno (or any of us old timers) circa 1995-2000 vs "sometime later". Age has a funny way of catching us without warning. 😕

Luckily, this year's game is on a Sunday at 12PM.........in terms of traffic that's as good as it gets.....
Ticketmaster is showing the game time as 7:30 PM on Sunday, March 1.

Back in the Dark ages I spent 8 years in NYC, going to college and working for a few years after. I loved watching college basketball at the old MSG. It was just the men back then. It’s been awhile, but I’ve signed up to get a notice once tix are available and my wife and I are thinking about making the trip.

In order to entice my better half, I’m selling the trip to the Big Apple as a package deal, to include dinner at Gallagher’s Steakhouse and a Broadway show…. 😉
I also went to high school/college/law school in NYC. I loved watching games at the Garden--the student seats were behind the baskets.

There were much cheaper seats there. I think it will be a very large crowd. My crew of 4 is going.
