I've been looking forward to seeing some International soccer at The Rent this summer. Then I read this online - "A planned match between Liberia and Jamaica in Connecticut was cancelled Tuesday after the promoter acknowledged the teams never agreed to play."

Tickets were already on sale for the game. That's a bad job by The Bushnell, the new management group.

Pretty funny. I potential 1k fine - and they are still working with them on other dates.

Add this to the litany of un-fan friendly indiscretions made by Rent management over the years. How do you put tickets on sale for an event when you haven't signed written contracts with the performers? Who's running this place? The Marx brothers?

So much for my summer soccer hope....even if it was two lower tier int'l teams!

If only. Who was gonna beat Chico out of a dollar? More like the Keystone Cops
That's unfair to the Mark Brothers. They were comic geniuses. If the folks running the Rent did as well in their chosen field they would be world class.

Yet another 'Only in Connecticut' moment. No worries, though. We'll have a 1 sec guard to 3 students ratio around the student section and 1980s quality scoreboards

FWIW, interesting to see Scot Haney's ex is Bushnell spokesperson

That was my point, Pal. I didn't think it was that tough to get in context.

I suppose this isn't a surprise - i couldn't find anything in the Courant about the debacle.
