Dez is not employed by UCONN. He isn't a PR guy for the school.

He's not even a UCONN fan, as he has pointed out many times on his blog. How the heck did we wind up with him?

I'll stop. But u get the point unless your a hfd basher here who wants to give warde a raise for all the great things he has done here already.

Ohio st and Mizzu. I would say those are big time schools. Would u?

Also I would like to say sorry to silver earlier in this I didn't include him. He's king good things as opposed to everyone else.

I understand you want to know some of this but is it really newsworthy? Do any of the new commits project to start? I'm not trying to be a d*ck, just want an honest opinion.

"Promotion" is not always "newsworthy;" nor does it have to be. A "warm and fuzzy" about the new guys' first days in a totally different environment, how classes and workouts are going, etc. Occasional follow-up, when appropriate. The type of thing that keeps the UCONN name in the media and introduces and humanizes the players for the fan base. Just one little seed as part of an overall campaign.

Now, does PP allow Frosh near the media?

Sometimes he is completely off the rails but he knows how to market the school, build the base and sell tickets. He has a great understanding of how to get the job done. He really could make a difference as long as he keeps his cool and acts appropriately.

Yeah, just look at all the businesses he has built (in his fantasy world).

He is the next Steve Jobs, for crying out loud (without the talent, intelligence, success, discipline etc)

He has great ideas on building the brand, filling seats and changing perception. Anyone that denies it isn't reading his posts. He mixes in tons of anger, craziness and odd humor but he has a very firm grasp how to get things going.

He has passion. Our administrators have none.

Wait he still has a blog?? That blog is a joke and a waste of server space for the Courant. I rarely see anything news worthy or more than a few lines written on the blog. I neither like nor dislike Des but if the Courant is going to have the position he currently fills, it needs someone who'll actually do a good job.
