I'm actually in the midst of some paperwork stuff, and came across the old "Act of God" coverage stuff in an insurance policy. Funny those clauses are still used in some places, but it made me think of Saturday night.

Perhaps the football gods, for once in a blue moon, (which we had recently), might smile down on us suffering innocents.

Give us a freak blizzard, or a monsoon, or a hurricane wind storm from hell. Turn the field into an unplayable mess.

That, just might make things better. Who knows.

The 2013 UCONN Huskies.

In need of the "Act of God" rider clause.

Well I like that phrase. There's no ACT without CT and no GOD without GO. I think there's a message in there somewhere!

I had a similar experience on the way to work this morning. I'm thinking about the debacle to be on Saturday night, & like a bolt of lightning started thinking about Rick Moranis's "Just one time" speech from LITTLE GIANTS. From my thoughts to God's ear.

It's an older policy that I was looking at, and I don't think they use the terminology that much anymore. Floods, hail damage, hurricane's etc are usually named now, but you can still get the "unnamed Acts of God" rider on insurance policies.

I don't know what our unnamed Act of God would need to be for us to win on Saturday, but I'll say a little prayer for it to come.

No matter how you shake this one out, if we win on Saturday, it will be the greatest upset in the history of UCONN sports.

The game does need to be played though.

There will be plenty of time to lament the current state of affairs in the future, but I'm going to let myself really enjoy what's going to be happening this weekend.

Michigan is coming to Rentschler Field to play UCONN.

Not a lawyer but believe the new term for this is Force Majeure.

I once was working on a contract and the person we were working with gave a sigh after no one had a comment on the At of God clause. The last person he had negotiated with did not believe in God and it became a huge issue for him.

Maybe we can get P & GDL's moms to sprinkle holy water on the team as they exit the tunnel ... ;)

You really think Coach P would run the Annexation of Puerto Rico play???

If those two are still kicking it would be an act of God in itself.

There are times, when I think about UCONN football, and I just wish I could let myself get in a room with Paul Pasqualoni, alone, and not do anything violent......you crazy people, just really sit down with the guy and see what his understanding of UCONN is.

The way this team has played under Pasqualoni, I can almost convince myself that he still thinks of UCONN as the program it was in the 1980s and 1990s that he ran into occasionally on the recruiting trail.

I often wonder, these days now, in fall of 2013, if the guy truly realizes, that UCONN fans, expected to be able to approach a season like we have here in 2013, and not just be competitive, but to WIN.

I would love to sit the guy down face to face, and tell him that every single fan of this program for the past 12 years, expected us to be in the position to be competitive and win against the competition we have on the schedule now, and not only did we expect to, we had ample reason in reality to expect it to be the case.

He's had more than enough time to prepare this program for where we are at right now.

It's going to take an Act of God to change the course of things now, unfortunately. That it will change, and we will continue to build toward winning, as is expected, I can't imagine wouldn't be the case, because the expectations to win, are going to be communicated, and will have to be acted upon, it's just matter of when.

The players on this 2013 team, have the opportunity to do something really great on Saturday night. I hope they can do it.

Carl. Carl. This is earth. To Carl. Come in Carl. Carl. If you can hear us, you are not going to enjoy what going to be happening this weekend. Unless you enjoy watching your team decimated and demolished by a B1G behemoth. Unless you enjoy the sounds of wailing, gnashing of teeth, bones cracking, human suffering, pain. The end of the life as you know it. This is not something you will enjoy witnessing. LOL!!!

There's no act of God without "O God!" and I'm pretty sure we'll hear that during the game!

No blizzard. No monsoon. Just need a beautiful and warm September evening. Line up, block and tackle. Beat the linemen in front of you. Break tackles. Create separation, hit open receivers, catch the ball. Make field goals. Get in the end zone.

What game are you going to?
