Looking at Charly's latest brackets the Bridgeport region has just got tougher. Uconn stays at #3 but he now has Baylor as a #2 which I feel is a more difficult game than Michigan would have been. Also he now has Maryland at a #3 and I feel they will beat NCState setting up an elite matchup with Uconn. Say what you want about Brenda as a coach but for once she scheduled a tough OC schedule which I think will help Maryland. They should have beaten SC except for a few questionable calls the last few minutes of that game at SC.
Now things could change and I feel Uconn can make it to the final four if like Geno says everyone plays to the best of their abilities (AE ?) And that's with the team he has right now,not counting if Paige plays or not. They have shown the great defense they can play and like all great Uconn teams they have always won playing terrific defense.
So I'm looking forward to see if they play the whole game against Marquette like they played against them in the 4th quarter up there.then we'll know if they are ready for the tournaments

I'd take Baylor over Michigan every day and twice on Tuesday. Matchups wise I think Baylor is more favorable for UConn. Michigan is very athletic at all five positions and that is not good for UConn.

Hasn't Michigan had some significant injuries recently which may have lead to some of their recent losses? Not sure how serious those injuries are but as we know they can make a huge difference. So looking at the recent bracketology I see some errors - as an example I don't think I can find a Patriot League AQ team as an example.

Boston University is shown as a 15 seed playing Iowa State in first round.

What other errors do you see?

I also saw Baylor as the new 2 in our Region and got a little worried. I have since changed my position though. Pre Brown injury I believe MI started 4 seniors. That core group has been together awhile and they can be really tough on both sides of the ball when locked in. Baylor lost a menacing lock down defender in Richards and two hard nosed crafty seniors in DC and Moon. The current Baylor guards are all similar height....no one over 5'8 and not the defenders we saw last year. Now I understand anything can happen in a one in done situation but I actually agree that we match up more favorably with Baylor. Egbo also remains her worst enemy with fouls and sometimes letting her emotions get the best of her.

I think we can get Baylor with no worries

Once Didi Richards went down in that elite 8 game we scored like 19 points in like 5 minutes.

If Uconn plays Baylor.. have no fear.

No carrington no richards no problem

You may be right it's just that I've seen Baylor play about 5 times and they're pretty athletic too plus Smith when she wants to be at times is unstoppable.. then again how would Uconn block out Hillman considering the tough times they've had blocking out Morrow

The Patriot League currently has a five-way fight for first, with each of the five having a legitimate path to the top seed.

you should only wish that Maryland takes down NC State..........they are probably the third best team in the country and when they are on they could very well beat UConn, Stanford or South Carolina.

I don't agree. I think Uconn wins by double digits if they play NC Sate..Never been a big fan of Cuhane. In the last four years lot of big games when she goes up against someone with similar height she's a no show

So that would equate to a wash because UConn's bigs do the same thing in big games

Michigan athletic?

Michigan just beat Maryland without Brown. They are a tough team for anyone to beat.

Didn't Maryland already lose to NC State this year?

Maryland is not that good this season. They could get hot at the right time but there is nothing in their play recently to suggest that will happen.

You act like UConn has no athletes on its team. Open your eyes. They have athletes everywhere.

There's a difference between having athletes and having athletic players. I'll stand by my original statement with my eyes wide open, thank you.

The "good news" is that Charlie Creme's brackets do not normally mirror the brackets of the Committee.

UConn has control of their own destiny. The dominoes have fallen and will continue falling over the next few weeks.

Go Huskies
Correct. History has shown that Charlie is better at predicting the 64 teams than he is at predicting the Committee's brackets.
The same can be said for pretty much all the so-called bracketologists for both WBB and MBB, like Lunardi and others. They usually come within a team or two of predicting the field, but it's quite impossible to predict accurately every team's seeding and placement.

Even if their ranking of teams 1-68 were identical to the committee's — the likelihood of which is itself next to nil — an endless number of bracketing decisions can further alter the course of regional placements.

I still cannot believe that teams as generally yucky as Florida State and Kentucky and Northwestern are still considered on the bubble. I mean good lord. FSU was completely thrashed by "my Coogs" in Tallahassee. Northwestern lost to Pitt, for godssake, which should be an automtatic disqualification. I don't care if they went up against some conference rival who forgot to put their sneakers on that day. Just no.

I agree 100%. I mentioned in another post - most of the bottom of the SEC - Alabama? aTm? both have like 9 or 10 losses in their own conference. Kentucky you mentioned. I'd add Mississippi State (15-11) - as well. IMHO SEC should have like 8 teams in, maybe, if you include Missouri.

None of those teams have above .500 in the conference, but moreover, they all have at least 10 losses. "But they were good losses"... YIKES!

Pretty amazing. Just between the SEC, ACC and Pac-12 there are something like 15 bubble teams according to the experts. Gross.

FWIW I generally ignore the prattle on "bubble teams" and other bracketing matters that is spewed by in-game commentators, who are constantly hawking their version of snake oil, especially on the conference-centric networks.

Just a note on Missouri: they wouldn't even be close the bubble if not for one single game where their vaunted opponent played down to them.
