The Official 2026 New York Jets Thread

The way she eviscerated her husband over and over on social media and TV was savage. I can’t say enough bad things about her.
Russini? I haven’t heard about that.

OK…time to talk draft. I will say…I am much more confident in Mougey than Douglas…especially with a year under his belt.

I hear that the experts think there will be a lot of trades. Not sure I see Mougey doing that. But…I think (and hope) they take Reese at number 2. Bailey is good but they already have Will McDonald as a pass rush only DE. I love Reese’s flexibility. WIth # 16 they have to take a WR…and if they don’t think one they like will be there…then maybe they can trade up. In the second round…I would think they look for someone in the secondary or another WR.

I am not sure they will look at a QB before the 4th or 5th and I am ok with that. So many of these qbs are deeply flawed. Maybe Allar because he has the physical traits…but I wouldn’t reach for him.

I really don't know what to think. 50% of what I read say Reese has more upside and athleticism, the other 50% says Bailey is more of a sure thing. Typically, I don't want to swing and miss with your first rounder, especially one that high...but I also think this team needs some playmaker like a Micah Parsons (not that I'm comparing Reese to him).

As for the rest? I'm just going to try and trust Mougey and see what unfolds and try to be optimistic.

Can we trade the head coach to move up from the #16 pick? LOL

The belief is that Reese does have Parsons potential. I think you have to roll the dice on him.

.-.
Cimini…who is very connected…thinks the Jets are picking Bailey. He thinks they should pick Reese. I hope he is wrong…Bailey would be fine…but I would prefer Reese.

How are you guys feeling about Sadiq? Nice player but you used a 2nd on TE last year and still have no QB. Kind of strange.

Hard to think Sadiq was better than Lemon at that spot. Everything I'm reading says Sadiq is a matchup nightmare and Reich loves the TE position, but at #16? This pick cannot be just okay. They need him to be a top 3 TE in 3-5 years.

I love the Sadiq pick. He is a unicorn. WR speed in a TE body. And they got a top WR in Cooper

Regarding the QB…they did the best they could in getting Geno. There wasnt a qb other than Mendoza to select. They will ride with Geno this year and hope they can use one of their 3 first round picks next year on a qb.

I feel a ton better about the Sadiq pick getting Cooper afterward. If Bailey pans out they may have three playmakers.

Oh the life of a Jets fan. Here comes the “maybe we’ll actually the things around” phase.

Honestly Geno can fling it. The next few picks need to be all on defense.

I mean, there are worse offenses than Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, Garrett Wilson, Cooper, AD Mitchell, Mason Taylor and Sadiq. It's now a matter of using them correctly.

And..they have a decent offensive line. They have a chance to be respectable.

Some mocks have them picking Nussmeier in the second. I think they go defense…CB or LB.

Overall, I would give the Jets draft a B+. It would be an A if they had drafted Reese instead of Bailey and Nussmeier instead of Klubnik.

I am guessing they wanted the sure thing in Bailey. I wish it wasn’t the Giants who got Reese, because now Bailey will be compared to Reese on a weekly basis. NY drama.

I love the Sadiq pick…and I really love the trade up to get Cooper. They thought about him at 16 and got him at 30. Nice job by Mougey.

Ponds is an interesting pick…I will trust AG’s judgement on that one. Picking up developmental DL, G and S are good plays.

I am still scratching my head on the Klubnik pick. Especially considering they gave up two 4s to move up to get him. Considering how slow QBs came off the board, I think Mougey miscalculated that one. But…if they thought he was the best of the remaining QBs, I guess it makes sense. I watched multiple games with Nussmeier and Klubnik. I thought Nuss was more polished and played more confident. Also…he was banged up last year which caused some of his issues. Klubnik was healthy..and stunk. Maybe they were worried about Nussmeiers injury history. Either way…I would have taken Nuss over Klub.

But…it was a good draft for the Jets…filled lots of holes.

I don’t understand the long term plan for Klubnick. Is he going to back up Geno this year? Is he supposed to be a long term back up to whoever they get next year? Or do they feel he could maybe the guy?

I don’t feel like he could be the guy. And if he’s supposed to be a career backup, that’s an awfully expensive draft decision when you could have gotten another playmaker.

I think they hope he becomes a servicable backup. The tricky part is…he can’t be the primary backup this year…so I think they still have a hole at QB2…cause it ain’t Cook or Zappe.

I agree…if you think the guy has a ceiling as a future QB2…do you really want to basically use 3 fourth round picks on him? I wanted them to draft a developmental QB…but not this one…and not 3 fourth round picks for one. And like I said…as the draft unfolded, it was pretty obvious QBs were not a priority and they weren’t rated highly. They could have probably drafted him later…or drafted Nussmeier in the 6th or 7th…and used the 3 fourth round picks on areas of need.

Overall…it was a good draft..but the fourth round picks were used poorly.
