The Official 2025 New York Yankees Thread

It's not over yet. We've still got Rodon & Schlitter going at home and then a fully rested, out for redemption, Fried going in Game 5. Plus, we beat the Red Sox.

That’s assuming we can score runs and hit with RISP which has been an issue all year.

Sure it’s possible but with Boone I’m not seeing it well let’s see if Yanks can win game 3 first.

My one saving grace at this point is at least I don’t have to listen to Philly Phans gloating. Hoping we turn it around at home and make it a series because so far, it’s been rough.

Not confident about the series, but I feel like the Yankees will put in a good fight today and Rodon outpitches Bieber, who was less effective in September (4.00 ERA) than August (2.50 ERA).

Either way, I'll be at the David Byrne show tonight, so I'll be following the game on the radio on the drive home.

Nothing gets in the way of Saturday night dinners out. 25 years together, it's a ritual of love.

So, the bar TV was visible from the table. And there, down 2-1, bases loaded with Aaron Judge up...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you've missed UConn games for raking leaves and bird watching before. Are those rituals of love too?

.-.
(Sigh) I was afraid we’d see this version of Rodon.

What will the Yankees do? Run it back for next season.

This is an organization who stopped caring once George Steinbrenner passed away.

I love leaves.

I love birds.

I remember getting so engrossed in leaf raking that maybe it was a 1st half I missed. My birding excursions are always early AM. Always home by 11am.

They're on a road to nowhere.

Tim Hill is so underrated. Nobody ever talks about him and he's never viewed as a go to reliever yet all he ever does is eat up innings when his # is called, clutch. Also, he always looks like he came from shooting coyotes, drinking Busch light, and crushing Marlboro reds.

Love Hill and so much fun to watch live. I’ve been to two Yankees games since he’s been acquired and got to see him in both games. Ground ball relievers are so underrated.

It’s a series! Gotta like the matchup between Cam vs a bullpen game.

Post #362. He’s a great reliever. 35 years old, looks like he’s about 60 but comes in and throws cheese. $3mil club option should be one of the first ones they pick up this offseason.

They have a pulse! I had been telling a friend, before the game, that Judge was hitting the quietest .400 I'd ever seen. One swing of the bat changed that whole perception. Now we see if Schlitter can take another step towards earning "Killer Cam" status. I know we don't give out that nickname so easily around here ;-).

Tim Hill born 1990 had cancer at age 25 and made his mlb debut at age 28. Impressive. Played college ball at Bacone College in OK

Personal life
Hill's father died of colon cancer in 2006. Hill was diagnosed with colon cancer during spring training of 2015. Half of his colon was removed and he underwent eight months of chemotherapy before being cleared by his doctor in January 2016. Hill has Lynch syndrome.

It can’t be overstated enough how much Devin Williams sucks ass. They should be clearing out his locker as he’s on the mound.

Team is just afraid to play in the clutch. I could read the body language that the lineup tries to work for walks only which is probably taught from their analytics people. Teams in postseason aren't walking you, you need to hit.

Grisham is a nice story but reverting to who he is, makes it far more dissapointing to see him take strike 3 down the middle in consecutive plate appearances, your hitting in front of Judge you needed to swing the bat.

Yes but so does Jazz. Talks a big game, showboats and can't do the little things or get the big hits.

It's just a horribly constructed team and has been for a long time. They've had the greatest hitter of his generation and they never knew how to build around him. You would think they would've figured it out by year 9 or 10.

Aaron Volpe, baby.

Need to move on.

You know Springer could've been a Yankee, but their still paying Aaron Hicks.

Dassit.

The Blue Jays come into Game 4 without a freakin' starting pitcher so they throw out a bunch of relief pitchers, three of whom are castoffs from other teams, and manage a Ryan McMahon home run and another Aaron Judge single.

Boone annoys all of us but honestly what major changes would a different manager make to make this group a World Series winner? The problem is more structural and this launch angle garbage never works come playoff time. We have a leadoff hitter who can't get on base, we have a shortstop who can't hit and goes through periods where he can't field, we have a second baseman who is a lot of flash with zero substance when it matters, we have a catcher who is always hovering around .200, we have an old home run hitting Dan Hurley (one of the best ever) who is never healthy and can't move.

Could you imagine Judge on the Brewers? All those dudes get on base.
