The Official 2025 New York Yankees Thread

I still have zero faith in Boone and the Yankees but Cam Schittler really does look the part. I know it was against the White Sox but I've seen him outclass a couple good lineups as well. 101 mph fastball with a nasty slider. He has 54 strikeouts through 48 innings.

Bullpen blew another game? Say it ain’t so…

I can't remember an instance where from one half inning to the next the strike zone changed as significantly as it did last night from the bottom of the eight to the top of the ninth.

A large part of that loss falls on Stanton's outfield play.
I actually blame the internal scouts for getting Dominguez’s projections so wrong that he now sucks enough that they have to trot the artist formerly known as Mike out there when everyone knows he has no business playing in the grass. He hit another moonshot last night, that’s all we can ask of him.

And little to do with last nights outcome but put me square in the camp of AI calling balls and strikes. Umps can stand behind the plate and make the ball/strike motions if they want to keep them employed but I’m tired of the “human error” argument. The technology is on everyone’s TV to see during every pitch, time to use it effectively.

I think we're cooked for the season. Our schedule will get us in as a wildcard but we aren't built to win tight games against teams with enough talent to advance in the playoffs. Our offense is worthless if we aren't hitting home runs and far too often our defense looks like we pulled a few guys from an office team.

I'm also guessing that Judge's elbow needs surgery and the plan is to have that done in the offseason so he won't miss the remainder of this year. If we need Stanton in the outfield in order to have his bat in the lineup (with Judge as a full time Dan Hurley until 2026) we're in trouble.

They pulled a win out of their butt tonight!
That umpiring crew tonight was horrible all 3 games!
Especially the last two!
Walsh behind Home Plate last night made 21 mistakes, on his rating card, 15 vs the Yankees! And tonight he butchered the low line out to McMahon at 3rd and the Home Plate umpire tonight was brutal vs both teams!
I really like Bellinger, Grisham, Rice, Judge, Goldschmidt, McMahon, and Chisholm!
Rumor has it if Cody plays out his option at season's end Hal doesn't want to give him big $! I say pay him what he wants!
He's great on this team, defense, offense and a leader in the clubhouse!
Also they don't want to pay Grisham!
I wish George was still alive and in charge!

Nice bounce-back win against Toronto. I'm guessing that, if the Yanks make it that far, Boone will use a rotation of Fried, Rodon & Gil, with Warren as a potential 4th and Schlitter and his 100+ moving to the pen.

The Yankees, 2 games out of 1st place, have 3 games at home v. the Tigers, then hit the road for 10 straight games to Fenway, Minnesota and Baltimore.

The Jays have 6 games at home v. the Astros and the Orioles, then hit the road to Tampa Bay and Kansas City.

Both teams have no days off in next 13 days.

The Yankees are 37-34 on the road. The BJs are 37-37.

The Tigers are 36-33 on the road. Tonight, they pitch Casey Mize. They will miss Skubal!

Reposting after last night.
Boy the Yankees are pissing me off big time!
But I blame Hal, Cashman, and Boone more than the players!
They can't really believe this roster is capable of winning the World Series, can they?
I know I sound like a broken record but leaving Spring Training those 3 knew what we needed and basically did nothing till the trading deadline to try to fix the obvious holes!
No one is held accountable for playing bad baseball, so mistakes keep repeating!
I have to go make lunch this upsets me too much!
And I turn 78 today so I don't want to go crazy on my birthday!

Happy birthday RSHERM.

They've had a ton of opportunities to show they can come through in critical spots and failed basically every time.

The best path is to expect an early playoff exit and take any success as a win.
