The new P5 Coaches

It is that time of year, I am setting up my spreadsheets of the schedules for the P5 teams, American and Big East conferences and the other opponents of Rutgers and Arizona.

I noticed that there are 8 new P5 coaches - thought I would remind everyone:
B1G - Minnesota - Lindsay Whalen
SEC - Mississippi - Yolette McPhee-McCuin comes over from Jacksonville
ACC - Boston College - Joanna Bernabei-McNamee from Albany
ACC - Clemson - Amanda Butler, the former Florida Coach
ACC - Pittsburgh - Lance White, who was an assistant at FSU
ACC - Virginia - Tina Thompson - recently, an assistant at Texas
Big 12 - Texas Tech - Marlene Stollings - comes over from Minnesota
PAC12 - Washington State - Kamie Ethridge - from Northern Colorado

One change in the American, as Michelle Clark-Heard takes over at Cincinatti (from Western Kentucky). No changes in the Big East.

Also of interest - the "deans" of each conference -
B1G - Vivian Stringer (1995)
SEC - Gary Blair (2003)
AAC - Sylvia Hatchell (1986), FWIW Muffet has been at Notre Dame since 1987
Big12 - Bill Fennelly (1995), one year more than Sherri Coale
PAC - Tara Vanderveer (1985)
American - Geno (1985)
Big East - Harry Parretta (1978), although Doug Bruno coached DePaul in 1976-1978, but left the women until 1988.

Bernabei-McNamee has done an excellent job at a few places...success follows her and expect her stay at BC to be brief before she’s offered a bigger opportunity.
