I have just posted on my website a review of a film I recommend to all my fellow women's basketball fans, "The Mighty Macs." It's not a great film, but it's something to see for those of us who closely follow and enjoy this wonderful women's sport. For those who don't know, it's the story of Cathy Rush who in 1972 took a forlorn Immaculata College team that had to play in primitive conditions and turned them into the first national champions (AIAW, in those days). You'll be amused to know that in that first national championship, Connecticut was represented by Southern Connecticut State in the first round. It's also interesting that the championship game was played between Immaculata and West Chester State, two schools located not far from the hometowns of Geno Auriemma and Caroline Doty.
