The lack of upsets, and way to fix the tournament

I think some mid majors can be competitive if they invest. Look at St. Louis. They just signed their coach to a 6 year, $22 million contract or ~$3.7 million per year which is on par with many P5 jobs. If they can raise NIL, why can't they compete?

Now do women’s. One could argue that they could be a 16 team tournament

Or 2 team tournament?
