It's that when UF competes for recruits against FSU, they can say, come to UF and you play in the SEC. You'll be playing in the biggest games, in the biggest bowls, and the national titles. Go to FSU, and you'll be in the ACC, playing in the Tire Bowl, on ESPN2, and not in the championship games. Simple as that.

Considering FSU is already getting top recruiting classes according to the rankings, does it really matter what conference they are in? It is all about maximizing the $$$$$ at this point. There aren't too many programs like FSU laying around in the SEC footprint.

Was about to make a similar reply. Think UF really would not be dead-set against FSU. I think there are other dynamics in play with SC and Clemson, as neither is a traditional top 10 school, and Clemson is not really a massive TV draw.

If the Big East collapses I hope WVU gets in the SEC somehow, they've earned it. If not there, I'd love for WVU, Ville, RU, and UConn to end up in the ACC together. That basketball conference would be insane, and the football would still be decent.

Watch the home winning percentage of Dook go lower and lower and lower.....

Can't buy the FSU rumors.

Like Pitt, FSU seems to be grasping for excuses for their recent shortcomings. They played for the National Championship 5 times in 8 years from 1993-2001 winning twice and won the ACC 3 times in the next 4 years (2002-2005). Then the BC curse and Virginia Tech.

Then again, FSU wants to escape the curse of Flipper and stench of failure at BC. Maybe they'll consider a BE bid.
