There's another thread going on right now about who we'd include if we could pick one former player to be on this year's team. One of the posters mentioned Johnnytime since he'd be able to shoulder more blame than the guys on our current roster. With that in mind, here's my list of the Johnnie Selvie Blame Team All-Stars. I'm leaving out guys who were expelled/asked to leave the team.

C- Dove
PF - Johnnie Selvie
SF - Chad Wise
SG - Scottie Haralson
PG - Taliek Brown

Bench

C - Justin Brown
PF - Josh Boone (he took a hell of a lot of flack in 2005-06)
SF - Marcus Johnson
SG - Sam Cassell Jr
PG - Covington Cormier
SF - Ben Eaves
C- Phil Nolan
PF - Antric Klaiber
Walk Ons
Marcel Lewis
Dan Guest
You can't be part of the Puerto Rico 4 as a walk on and not make the team.

Then why did you include Mandeldove?

By the way, you need to add Dyson and Robinson to your list. Some here hold these two on a pedestal. I thought, at the time, they gave up on their team down the stretch in '10. Made it appear the game passed Calhoun by.

The 2009-10 Huskies minus Kemba might as well be the starting 5

Dyson
Robinson
Edwards
Oriakhi

Throw in Donell Beverly just because people expected him to do something he couldn't for some reason.

I don't know how I forgot Dyson. He's probably the most obvious guy of all.

I wouldn't really group Robinson in with the squad since he was overwhelmingly supported, even when he didn't deliver. Dyson is another story though. Dove wasn't technically wasn't expelled, just asked to take a hiatus. He did lose the scholarship though, but was semi-welcome to play again as a walk on so that one's kind of a complicated pick. It just wouldn't be a blame team though without the Dove.

The mvp of this team was Ricky Moore. His soph year he was DESTROYED on the board. He was "rickety" moore b/c of his constant shoulder injuries, he did the "Ricky Shuffle" which was when he would simply dribble back and forth at the top of the key and just pound the ball. That was the year they outlawed the 5 second rule or he would have committed 8 turnovers a game. His complete ineffectiveness necessitated us getting into the Khalid sweepstakes who became, along with Smitty, the most important recruit in UConn history.
