Must admit I felt a sense of sorrow at the lack of fans at the Hump for the La Monroe game. I have never seen the stands so empty. My thoughts are the scheduling of cupcake games is a major culprit for the lack of fans in the stands. I remember games were the Hump was packed and getting a ticket was a chore. My advice to our coach is schedule OOC games that mean something or risk losing the fan base.

My apologies if the joke went over my head but I assume you are joking about the administration’s decision to close the game to fans due the weather.

No, I did not know the game was closed because of weather. My mistake but when I saw the empty stands it made me feel so sad for the players, the school, and the fans. Still hope we strive to schedule more competitive OOC games even if we have a losing record. I believe for State to return to our former WBB status we have to play better opposition.

When the weather report for later in the evening took a turn for the worse yesterday ULM was already in town. The decision was made to move the game from 7:00 to 5:00 pm and not have fans so that parking attendants, concession workers, etc were not forced to be out. Further, several workers have regular jobs and weren’t able to adjust schedules at the last second for the time change.

As I made the observation when I turned to that game the other night asking what happened to all the fans, and then saw this thread, I did some number crunching and am happy to report that MSU averaged 4,886 fans for their 4 games so not bad I mean it’s not like it was when Vic was there but maybe the fans will come back if winning regularly also shows up.

Tornadic storm system passed through, highest activity was supposed to be around 7:30 pm. Lucky they even played the game.

I use to post on the Elite Dawg MS boards but when Vic left that board got too vulgar for me. So I do not really follow any of the boards except the BY. I occasionally visit the Texas and Tennessee boards, Texas because of Vic and Tennessee because I enjoy COACH JUMPER Making a fool of himself!
