And it worked. Alabama never solved it. Sanogo and any number of guards ran it well.

It won't work versus Nova or Creighton but it does have a place. Bama wasn't schooled how to defeat it. Also, Adama seemed to have a better understanding of when to give it up. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see it more in the future -- hopefully in a limited role.

The hard hedge isn’t a bad thing, it’s overuse is a bad thing. Use selectively, it can be very effective and we execute it well.

Works better with high IQ defenders like Jackson, Karaban, Alleyne and Diarra there as a handicap to cover the post when the recovery is slow.

Also Sanogo is not going nearlynas high as he (or Whaley) used to. It's kore of a flat hedge than a high hedge.

When Adama is in high hedge, when Clingan is in funnel the ball handler to the paint

This works unless Clingan's man is out on the 3-point line, in which case it's way too much ground for him to cover. That's one reason we probably won't play 2 bigs unless the opponent does. Too many other good lineup options.

We have some big strong guards who can bully some of the kids that Alabama was rolling out.
It was driving me nuts when Walton was saying UConn is at an athletic/size disadvantage playing Bama so they have to beat them other ways. He talks nonsense but this was even dumber than his usual nonsense.
