The Headbutt showed it all

I was defending Aidan a week or so ago… He needs time to adjust but we will need him in March… badly… He played some good D last night too.

There was no reason to pile on him for play - as our whole team was struggling.

Mark my words, this kid - his development this year, will be a deciding factor in whatever kind of run we make in the NCAA Tourney.
The rule for defense is what you lack in physicality you make up for with know-how. He was in good position for the most part last night. Anticipation is a huge part of good defense.

And also headbutting not a good idea since AK was sitting this one out due to hitting his head in Maui.

And besides that, headbutting hurts. I headbutted a co-worker once after a few and soon regretted it.
I thought that was a little bit too much. Aidan looked a little bit like what's going on here. Someone showed Dan a video of how to do a good chest bump

“He seeks challenges,” said Mark Mahaney, Aidan’s father. “He’s been frustrated with his own performance. Not with the team, not with the coaches, his own performance. He feels he can offer more.”

Mark Mahaney, who traveled from California to take in this full Gampel experience, loved it.

“I saw it on social media and I couldn’t help but comment, ‘Yes, I raised my son to punch back if anybody head butts him,'” he said. “I saw those shots and that, to me, is classic Aidan. He made his own decision about UConn and it was nice to hear him say he was really happy with the decision he made.”

Like a ‘phoenix rising,’ how Aidan Mahaney is coming through the fire at UConn

IMO-I may be wrong-But watching the "headbutt" on TV looked like it was more of an exuberant celebration between Aidan and Dan.. With Dan grabbing his head -Looking in his eyes-and congratulating him Jersey-style. Coach to player. The lights dimmed at the exact moment of the embrace as they broke for a TO .. Didn't look like any contact to me like some people are saying .Just two fierce competitors enjoying the moment.

Yeah, we don't need someone else in concussion protocol. It's too easy to head butt way harder than planned.

Yes! You nailed it. But my thread title would've been waaay too long.

It was a great moment watching within the flow and excitement of the game. Mahaney was lucky coach didn't hit him with his wallet.

Aiden is used to playing the point in a very deliberate and methodical offense at St Marys. He is too slow to initiate our offense as Diarra also is. Nowell I thought did a good job with this but he appears to be buried at the present time. I think McNeeley does a good job initiating and it also gets him moving. I look at him to be getting the keys more often
