The players really seem to have bought into Diaco and everything he embodies. Yes, UCF is terrible, but a conference road win for us and a blow out at that, is rare.

Make no mistake, this was a big game for UConn and one that keeps alive our achievable goal of a bowl bid.

We have momentum, we have home field and we have an opponent we owe pay back to from last season in USF.

I like where we stand going into this game.

Let the kids celebrate, they deserve it.
Fair enough. It just seems like we've been down so long now that people are willing to accept D2 mentality when we can and need to be more. I know we've been down awhile but this is a decent team, and I hope we can start to treat these wins as routine soon

I am not the biggest fan of Coach D, but i thnk this Conflict thing is going to prove to be a brilliant move. He is laying the ground work to build buzz with what has been the premier program in our conference. A program that happens to be located in Central Florida. I hear rumor that area produces a little football talent. It also happens to be a place that offers direct flights and a billion hotel options for fans who wish to travel.

I don't think it is an accident he is trying to cook this up with them.

I get where you're coming from, but look at Texas today. Yes, they beat their actual rivals who were ranked, but the put coach Strong on their shoulders and gave him a gatorade bath. Texas football acting like they won a national title after a regular season win.

It's all about perspective and where you've been and where you are headed.

Big wins for both programs.

Oh, nuts.

Everything is beautiful everyone gets a trophy panacea.

Frankly, I'm just glad they finally got a dominating win regardless who the competition is. Still on track for bowl eligibility.

Before your post gets 1000 likes YES. I'M HAPPY AND EXCITED ABOUT THE WIN. BUT WE SHOULD BE EXPECTING TO WIN AGAINST AN 0-5 TEAM NOT ACTING LIKE WE JUST WON THE CONFERENCE.
Gatorade baths are required when winning a trophy, specifically a trophy won for the conFLiCT.

Cringeworthy. They're clearly a bad team and it was a bad look.

BUT we won and won looking pretty damn good so im happy :)

You do realise Connecticut won it's third game by mid-season. Something that hasn't happen the past two years. I would be just as excited if I was the kids. I think Connecticut fans have to come to terms with the reality of the program... Any win right now is satisfying and a great win, especially against a league member like UCF that in enjoyed some success the past couple of years...

Even after a big victory yesterday, this board and the stupidity of others still never ceases to amaze me. Let the kids have some fun. They're embracing the rivalry talk regardless of whether you care or not. Let the kids celebrate after a big road win.

That is why they laugh at us, like the stupid a.. ConFlict trophy nonsense, medic. Watch the espn pregame today? Doofus
It's an epic trolling job. The guy is like a mad scientist, and he has brought the corpse of uconn football back to life. Let me be clear, the guy is operating an a completely different mental plane than you or I (especially you).

The running game was better than it has been. They scored over 30. They put a team away and didn't screw it up in the fourth quarter so the program took another step forward. The more you do those things the easier it gets to do them again. Next step will hopefully be putting a few game winning streak together. If they want to dump Gaterade on their coach to congratulate him on his first road win so be it.

Big UConn fan that was very excited about the dominating win, but....I'm guessing every one of the posters that had no problem with the Gatorade bath would have gone crazy if any other FBS team that was 2-3 did that after beating a team that was 0-5. Texas situation was for a win over the # 10 team in the country in a rivalry that dates back forever. If Wake Forest did the same thing after their win over BCU yesterday, methinks they would have gotten "the business" from this here BY.

If you create a rivalry game, but then act like it is meaningless when you win it, then you'd look even more foolish.

If you're going to go to the trouble of creating a rivalry game, you've got to at least make it appear as though you give a f#$k. I'm absolutely fine with the Gatorade dump. I can't wait to see the Gatorade dump when we win the AAC Championship Game, too...

Exactly. This whole conFLiCT thing has more to do with recruiting than an actual rivalry. The day UConn gets in the B1G, that trophy finds its way to the dumpster. We want to be able to pluck a few kids from FL every year and things like a silly trophy that excites our kids and a dominating 40-13 beatdown only help.

If the thing that is creating the biggest stir this morning is a post-win Gatorade bath, then things are MUCH better than they have ever been in the past 4 seasons.

We won a friggin' road game. UCF is beyond awful, but who cares? We won a road game convincingly. That confidence will come in handy later this season. Re-learning how to win includes re-learning how to win road games.

There are a handful of weirdos who track stuff like this. It's the worst in college basketball season when they obsess about students storming the court.

99.9% of everyone else forgets within 24 hours because it's absolutlely meaningless - but they can tell you the Iowa State fans stormed the court against Oklahoma State in Jan of 2013 and it was poor form because OSU had lost 2 of their last four and was only 19th in the AP poll.

AND... relearning how to dump a Gatorade bucket onto your coach!

That and the "Act like you've been there before" thing is horseschit. Most college kids haven't been there before. Not every program is a top 5 team that should expect to dominate every game. Let the kids celebrate their win even if you think it's not a worthy enough accomplishment.

Geez...what a kill joy! Every single game they play is a big game for this team/program. They put in the work every day and the past couple of seasons had to be so damn frustrating...BD is instilling his attitude in these players and it's showing. We've seen enough brooding, unhappy, disconnected players...and it's great to see them look like a team again! Celebrate all you want guys, you've earned it!

It's the most decisive win we've had in years, but some people always need something to complain about. Good ol' Yard.

No worries. Once we're in the B1G the ConFLiCT trophy issue won't be an issue anymore.
