I don't have slo-mo down here in Guatemala, but I can replay the game…a bunch of points/observations follow:

  1. The opening tip was typical of the game: looked like it went straight to a ND player, but Dolson snatched it away… so many loose balls went UConn's way
  2. Stef's opening shot sure looked like a 3 to me
  3. On the out of bounds Mo was just a little less aggressive than usual in going for the ball or it would have been 4 (or 5) zip
  4. Stewie's tip in over her own missed shot over the taller (but immobile) Taya Reimer was the first instance of clear difference in talent between the two teams.
  5. Speaking about moving screens: on Lindsey Allens jumper (17:45 or so) , Reimer is almost her dance partner…nothing called.
  6. Stef's first foul, ticky-tacky but 2 separate points of contact.
And finally to end this post
A few plays later Stewie got knocked down on a hip check by Lindsey Allen. My initial reaction was: "Are we seeing our first UConn flop? Did Geno tell Stewie, "if you're getting belted in the paint, fall down once?"
Nah, an old fashioned hockey play, the Irish play rough.

Reimer is only 6'3, not sure she's taller than Stewart.

Dolson's shot was a two. Her foot was clearly over the line.

The sweet looking boat in my little pix is presently (aver moi) in Catamaran Marina, Rio Dulce Guatemala.
On May 1 or thereabouts, i'm bringing Southern Star home to City Island NY via Cozumel, Key West, Savannah and up the inter-coastal home.

Should be back in July.

By the way there are other Boneyarder"s actually living in Guatemala.
I don't want to invade their privacy by disclosing, but they well might.

If I might ask, what are all these people doing down there? Retired? Or nationals?
