The game thus far

The defense isn't as bad as the score would indicate. It hasn't been great, but ISU is shooting out of their mind--sort of like Syracuse in the Dome.

The offense has been the problem. We had a clear advantage with our size inside. What do we do? Dribble around the perimeter and throw up a bunch of 3s. If they were playing decent offense they'd still be down, but within shouting distance.

I think the defense has been pretty clueless, at least in the game I was watching.

The tone was set early with Royce White. He blows by everyone on the very first play. The bigs play matador D. No one is ready to take the charge. Now everyone collapse in on the inside and this opens up the 3's.

We are down 10 at the half. Unless our defense can get better, it does not matter how great we play on offense.

I want to know why we haven't tried pressing White when he brings the ball up court. Giving him a free path doesn't help us one bit.

Sorry but to allow open looks especially from 3 was mindblowing. Even us fans heard they can shoot from 3. They did not execute the game plan early on which was evident. That alone is astounding especially with a HOFer coaching you. It could have been cockiness or underestimating the opponent.

Not sure what woke them up but hopefully they remain that way.

The defense wasn't great, but they had hands in faces frequently, and Baylor was making it.

Drummond and White, as Iowa State fans suggested, was a disaster. Roscoe was better.

housekeys is correct....the tone was set actually by the bigs not manning up and playing D....the dunk to start and then drummond lazy getting back to his guy off a hedge.....then roscoe and shabazz committed errors leaving their guys to help on penetration because that is exactly what ISUWants...their guards penetrate to kick it back out NOT to score....big changes need to be made......lets see

I don't see many changes that need to be made. We sucked in the beginning, but play defense like we did the last 7 minutes, and we're going to have a great shot.

The loose ball continues to elude us, watching AO not even see a guy standing right next to him in the lane, we are just missing deflecting passes that go right over our heads or by our noses. Down 10 it's winnable but it is going to take one helleva effort rebounding and on D. Have to make the free throws and we will need some 3's. Asking alot here. Let's hope.

This team didn't have the mental toughness necessary. There were about four times in the second half when we were about to make a game of it and each time, we didn't maintain the necessary focus, started getting sloppy on offense and didn't match ISU when they knew they needed to score.

This sucked but if this was part of the price of what we had last year, I'll take it.
