I can see a Cinderella team winning the Big Dance this year. No powerhouse teams this year.

No way.

Damn, if UConn was this vain, the school would have to produce this t-shirt about every other year for the women’s basketball team. Instead, UConn just prints t-shirts when they win national championships, which also happens about every other year.

Arizona was one until the Ashley injury.

I think Florida and Kansas are going to be teams you don't want to see in the NCAAs. I think Witchita State--despite the flack they get on this board--is a real threat for the Final Four again. A healthy MSU is going to be scary in the NCAAs, as they always are.

Duke is going to be a tough out because Parker is almost always going to be the best player, and you need either skilled interior bigs to exploit their weakness or quick guards to get into the paint (Memphis would be a nightmore for them provided the refs didn't muck it up...so would Louisville and Florida).

Someone suggested Arizona is a lot like UConn in 2009. I'm not judging them yet, but they're no longer the favorite. Syracuse has talent, but I still think this team is behind their 2010, 2012, 2013 teams, and I don't think they'll make another deep run unless, somewhat paradoxically, they drop to a 3 or so.

I don't trust Louisville in the tournament with the new rules, but people are sleeping on them, and I think they can make an E8 or S16 run in the right bracket.

So, yeah. I'm not sure who is going to win this year. Which is nice. It means go on a good run, get a good seed, keep developing Nolan/Brimah/Facey, and it could, conceivably, be us.

Well now that Florida is going to be #1 next week, we should make shirts "WE BEAT THE #1 TEAM"

You know Cuse would. They sold pieces of a net from a home win vs a team 15 spots below them like it's a relic.

They really could lose their next three games. All away games and they have zero bench it seems. Boeheims bench has tightened up like a Cuse ballboys sphincter near Fine.

Thank you for the belly laugh!

This came up on Twitter the other day:

ESPNU ‏@ESPNU Feb 18
Cuse Coach Boeheim on #KatzKorner about 3 straight road games "I dont think we ever had a tougher stretch in the history of the Big East."

Highly doubt that.

@Penfield did some digging and found that Cuse played the following during the regular season:
4 ranked Big East teams in a row 04-05, 05-06 & 08-09
3 in 07-08, 10-11, & 12-13.

FYI - they also didn't perform very well during these stretches. 5-16 combined. I expect them to lose 2 of their next 3 games. Dropping like a rock going into March.

In none of those did they have three straight road games (which, to be fair to JB, was, I think, his point).

That said, the @25, H3, @8, @12 is clearly a much more difficult stretch than @5, @Unranked (RPI 71), @ 14.

The way the quote was written it is hard to tell if he is only referring to situations where they played 3 road games in a row. I have a feeling he meant these 3 games were the hardest stretch they have ever played when you factor in that all 3 are on the road. I disagree w/ him.

Looking through their past results I did not find any instances of them played 3 road games in a row in the Big East. Maybe we simply had better schedule makers than the ACC.

Based on my vast knowledge of Syracuse hoops I would imagine this is the first time in their history that Cuse has to play 3 straight away games in a non-tournament situation. In that sense maybe it is truly the greatest challenge a Syracuse team has ever faced.

After 2 straight years of this CR crap, I like walking around the office today whispering 'BC' and 'and 1' to my 2 'Cuse alumni in the office.

His comment was so stupid, I assumed it had to be centered around 3 straight road games, anchored by two very good teams. But even with that, some of the 3 to 4 game stretches, especially those that include more road than home, are clearly more difficult.

I mean, in 2008-2009, they had a stretch of four straight Top 15 teams. That's nuts. And that was the old Big East that they helped to destroy...

Remember when he said that if Syracuse ever ended up in the ACC you could find him fishing instead of coaching?

This guy's head has been so far up the ACC's collective ass this season that he is now picking full on turds out of his nose.
