I might be wrong but Fleck strikes me as a guy who won't be a huge success outside the MAC. He is having a great season but you can do that in the MAC from time to time. But he is an 8-5 guy over his previous few years. And he is known as a good recruiter eh x-o guy so he will be very dependent on his coordinators.

What a step up from what we have.

No question. Just saying I'm not sure he is going to be the next Urban Meyer/Nick Saben. If you hire him thinking that I suspect you'll be disappointed. And I hate to say it but by the numbers Pasaualoni would be a step up.

We have zero shot at landing Fleck unless he stays at WMU another year, wins only 7 games, and isn't as hot a commodity. This offseason, zero shot.

I know. I'm not actually disputing anything you said. Just tongue in cheek saying some 8-5 seasons look pretty nice at the moment. At the very least, 8-5 wouldn't frighten future prospects, be that recruits, coaches or a conference invite.

Fleck is not a good recruiter. He is a fantastic recruiter, his recruiting classes, to West Bumf*** Michigan have been phenomenal. He also know how to hire good coordinators and let them do their job. He laughs at Diaco.

Fleck would come to East Hartford and beat Diaco by more than 40. Maybe he'll flop at Indiana or some place like that - but he's going to win more FBS games this year than Diaco is going to win in his UConn career.

2+6+3=11 Diaco
12 Fleck (this yr). Tonight +1 =13. Bowl: 14?

So.....Whaler, Bobby either is done 12/31 or he wins 2 games next year.

Gun to my head, Fleck.

1000% agree. He likely won't come in and talk about 2017 being a "100 level process" year either. He'll probably win at least 5 games wherever he goes in the P5. And no question that WMU would come to the Rent and beat us by 40. We've lost our last 2 to that program when we had a tiny bit more speed and - I can't believe I'm about to say this - tiny bit better coaching.
