On the surface one might consider that the 3rd tier AAC teams would fill the scheduling slots of what use to be the OOC cupcake games. And then play less OOC cupcake games. However, unlike the OOC cupcakes we play the AAC teams away too - so you we don't have that top heavy home schedule that in theory produces more revenue if we use that model.
Since you can't do anything short term about the conference what needs to be done is replace the local 2 to 3 local cupcake games with intersectional good OOC games. The home schedule might slip by a game or two but the turnout per game would be higher.
