I totally agree about the generational label. I really don't know what that means. The best player in a span of 25 years, 20 years? So go back ten years before Sarah and take it to ten years after? It is really an overused, hyperbolic, little understood term. I will say this however. Her offense, defense, basketball smarts, intuitive sense of the game, exertion of will, and repertoire in her 6'2" frame are unlike anything that we have seen in a very long time, perhaps ever.
One play did it for me. It was against Tennessee at the Hartford Center. Sarah had just blocked a shot and grabbed the ball off the block with time dwindling down in the third quarter. she passed it up ahead to Azzi who dribbled in a perfect diagonal to Allie and gave her the ball for the quarter ending 3 point make and a crowd that exploded. I thought "What a great play by Azzi". 'What vision". Turns out if you watch carefully on the replay, she can see Sarah yelling at Azzi from in back of her to get it to Allie. From where she was, in back court, she saw how the play would develop. Nuff said.
