The case for Rob Dauster

Hey @RobDauster if you still check BY, just want to let you know that you don't need to put a restrictor plate on your UConn fandom and the importance of maintaining the perception of being the most neutral UConn fan in the history of the universe shouldn't trump...you know....being a proud UConn fan. No one's gonna shoot your dog if you go slightly homer from time to time.

Agree the headline doesn't really fit the article.

Go read that quote at the top again.

That’s what being coached hard looks like.

The results aren’t going to come immediately. But they will come, and when they do, UConn is going to be better for it as a result.

“That process is hard, it’s hard to get there,” Hurley said. “Our relationship will grow throughout the year as he continues to develop into the player that we need him to be, the quarterback that we need him to be.”

The RuffRuff Alternate Access™:

Dan Hurley on Silas Demary: We have a 'contentious relationship'

I think contentious was a poor choice of words on Dans part. Contentious would be if Silas was resistant to or disagreed with the process.

Hurley sees the potential both for Silas and the program. He is ramping him up as fast as he can. He knows Demary wants to be great(why would he come to UConn if not?), and is giving him the drinking from a firehose treatment. It is not a comfortable place to be, I am sure Silas has gone home with his head spinning some nights. I'm sure Dan is being congizant of how much DeMary can "take". So at the end of the day, what I believe will happen is that when the lights all go on at the same time, Silas DeMary is going to be an unstoppable force in all facets of his game.!

I love CBS Eye on College Basketball's Matt Norlander. He is an excellent reporter, extremely knowledgeable and fair, a close contact of Dan Hurley, and he lives in Connecticut (even though it's not the 860). He always gives UConn our flowers during his show, and he has a really nice mix of humor along with his anlysis with Gary Parrish.
Parrish is a bit of a UConn hater
