The case for Rob Dauster

Not that there has been backlash but I have found him to be very accurate when it comes to assessing our Huskies.
He has been pretty spot on when it came to the performance of our past 3 teams.

He has to watch every team.

He knows how we stack up against the rest of the country.
We have a rare opportunity to get insight from a die hard fan who is a main contributor to a high profile CBB show.
He is high on this team. I trust that.

If you dont listen to Top Dogs, you should.

I've often found him to be too overly critical (hey, would fit perfectly here lol) of the team. Or say he compliments the team about something, he'll immediately say something to critique the team. Its like he's wired to not say too many good things in a row before bringing up some criticism. If I could give him a grade, I'd give him a C.

I love CBS Eye on College Basketball's Matt Norlander. He is an excellent reporter, extremely knowledgeable and fair, a close contact of Dan Hurley, and he lives in Connecticut (even though it's not the 860). He always gives UConn our flowers during his show, and he has a really nice mix of humor along with his anlysis with Gary Parrish.

I’d say Rob is a fan without being a homer. Very honest insight imo. We’re lucky to have him doing a UConn centric podcast, even if it’s not as frequent as years past. He’s built a really nice business

He seems to try a little too hard to avoid the homer label. Like he's keeping count of how many good things he says about the Huskies and then the homer alarm goes off and he goes "Oh crap, I gotta say something critical".

No, that was Zanetto that got out ahead of that story. He used to do the Locked On podcast and now does Hoops Cap.

Dauster doesn't put out a ton of Top Dogs podcasts, so when he does, he usually has a lot of good insight and opinions to share.

I agree that Rob does a very good job and he is balanced in his analysis and yes maybe a little negative but so are pretty much all of us! I also agree on Matt, I think he is excellent (now Gary, on the other hand...)

Yeah. I avoid Twitter in general. Because of click bait stuff like this. With a podcast you are usually choosing to listen and are often getting thought out content. Not blurbs.

Dauster lurks on here. I left a comment (well deserved) very critical comment about something he said and he responded to it. I was surprised to say the least. That being said i dont agree with some of his takes but he has been pretty accurate at times. I dont have a real big problem with him.
