After Mojeff everyone can handle the ball lol. But serious she's not a great ball handler. She is slow getting around the elite athletes.
how many "elite" athletes do UConn face game after game?

That would be one hell of a trial by fire against that non-conference schedule.

UCONN has two pg's next year - I know we have argued about Nurse but imo she is also a pg. And to start the year - other teams aren't on the top of their defensive games either. There is a tendency to believe that all the top rated teams next year will paly in your face tremendous defense. Early on that won't be the case for all. Even UCONN.

Anyhow- I am most interested in your thoughts on Molly. I know you spoke highly of her. What do you think of her next year and for the future?

Only seen her in three games or so, but I like Bent a lot. Not sure how big a role she can have as a frosh but then there will certainly be roles up for grabs. My guess is that Bent will intrigue us quite often at times but still be a year away from significant contribution. But I thought Collier would be even more ready for this season than she was so don't go by me.

At this point I don't think she can get around my grandmother. Last night he put her in she looked like a Freshman rather than a Jr.. She's just not the Uconn type of player. She is overrated

Saniya appears to have regressed from her sophmore season. I hope it was due to her confidence being affected by the IT band injury. She could be a valuable contributor next year. Remember as a freshman, she was actually faster than Mo in practices, and a much better 3pt shooter. Lets not writer her off yet.

Chong reminds me so much of Charde Houston. A great player that for some reason rides the roller coaster of her potential. I think Charde needed to step out of her own head, and I feel the same about Saniya.

I'm not a huge Saniya fan because I do think she repeats mistakes--which drives Geno crazy and is unacceptable in this program. But I am deeply sympathetic to her, because she has a lot of talent and has tried very hard to keep her spirits high. I don't think we can judge her potential for next year by the 2nd half of this season. After she got hurt and fell in the depth charts as the freshmen rose, she was largely put in at times when she couldn't get into the rhythm of the game, and, playing largely with other "subs", didn't necessarily get the same type of support. Clean slate for everyone next October. Let's see how she shows up then.

There is a feel good story ready to happen with Saniya. We know she has offensive talent and her weaknesses are not insurmountable. She is the lone major recruit from her class and I think the UConn players will rally around her and make it a goal to get Soniya her 4th championship. I like the positive posts that correctly state that past performance is not always the best way to predict the future. Rooting and confident Sonyia and the team will do much better than most people think.

Saniya gave us the perfect ending when she stole the ball, set up the play for Pulido, distracted the defenders, passed it, and Polly made the shot!!

I don't know what Geno will do next year with CD but he has said that he coaches to have the girls ready for March. I think if she is as good as we hope she is that she will be tested early and often. Going to be a long summer waiting to see.

Saniya came in, got pressured, and turned it over. She needs more work. I think Saniya can play some pretty good SG, but I see Crystal at PG next season.
W or SF. She needs to think about scoring now, find her roots. PG is not her future. I do think she needs to go to Point Guard College like Lorin did(take Ekmark with her). the skills and knowledge would help her. Work on her mid range pullup and 3 point shooting everyday until the start of next season.
