No, I don't see reason to panic, expansion is not over. The question should be what do the Herbst, Manuel and the rest of the administration do to make us more appealing. Is that trying to become an AAU member? Yes. Is that reevaluating our athletic department? Yes. We need to position ourselves to leave no choice who should be next.

Is RU a better choice than us for the B1g? They have a decent 6-7 year run in football, but they marketed themselves to be the kings of New York. What have we done in regards to marketing the UConn brand name? Nothing. No billboards, crappy advertising and no one shouting from mountain tops who we are and what we've done. In expansion we have lost the game of perception, that has to change. Syracuse, Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland and Rutgers have not accomplished what we have as an athletic department. It's time to show who we are and what we're made of.

Football needs a coach who will bring excitement, basketball needs to do something with Ollie. Give him the job or not, but we can't recruit like we should until it's resolved.
