Anyone know much about the teams we will face next year and who our contenders might be?

DePaul. That is all.
So basically, minus DePaul, we have the same weak contenders. I know things change, but generally, if teams are not contenders vying for an NCAA title, they aren't going to get the best recruits. I alos know Geno will provide o/o/c big games to test our team, but I was hopeful some would be like Baylor or our past rival ND! :(

My lowly opinion: the Big East "will" get better with UConn. These schools know the value of women's basketball and they want to compete. It is speculated that UConn will dominate the Big East and this may be true especially with the incoming classes that UConn will have over the next two years. But if you are a recruit offered a scholarship from Marquette or Creighton and you have a chance to compete against DePaul and UConn, you may find it easier to enlist than if you were offered by U of Houston or Tulsa. Who knows, if these BE teams get the recruits, then maybe the BE will send 2 or 3 teams to the NCAA tournament especially if they take the lead like UConn and schedule some very good out of conference teams. Conversely, this may help UConn recruiting as well.

Be that as it may..........our coming to the AAC didn't change much in that conference. Most teams in it have not been improved enough to be contenders, nor have they received the necessary recruits to compete.

Yes. The best of them is DePaul...whom UCONN regularly beats by 30-40 points. There is not a single good team; Seton Hall, Villanova, Georgetown, Creighton, etc. The Big East is good for mens BB, but, so far, dull and void for the ladies. I held a far more optimistic view of moving away from the AAC ( thinking ; " no conference can possibly be as bad" ), until I looked at the teams in the Big East.

It is going to be exactly the same, and maybe worse. Totally depressing.

P.S. I suspect this point of view will draw some argument. But I don't see a quality women's BB team anywhere...unless you feel Depaul is an upgrade to South Florida/Central Florida.
