Great story.

On a sad note, Lakota Beatty started playing for Oklahoma State but transferred to ORU after her freshman year so she could play with her younger sister. Before her senior year Lakota's sister committed suicide. Lakota was able to take the year off while she and her family mourned.

In the fourth quarter of the last game the other four players on her team stood by the baseline and Lakota dribbled the ball near midcourt. North Dakota State was daring her to take the shot and Lakota kept hitting 3s to put the game away.

It was one of the most dominant performances I've ever seen and it was her career high in scoring.

She is a grad student now and is one of the best role models Native Americans have.
