The Athletic: Ranking 136 college football teams entering 2025, from Penn State to Kent State

And because I'm feeling mega petty today (starting my healthcare plan research), I'm going to add CSU. Next posts will have weekly trends. 😁

UConn rose 42 points from the pre-season and CSU went down the same.

The Big Ten should add the two Independent schools and make it a solid 20 school league.

CSU ends with only UTEP, Sam Houston, Georgia State, Charlotte, and UMass below them.
Thanks for that. Another way to look at it: over the last two seasons (including last year's bowl game), we are:

3-5 against the P-4 (3-4 against the ACC, 0-1 against the Big Ten);
13-2 against the G-5; and
2-0 against FCS.

The record against the P-4, and the performances, say we're a good G-5 team. The problem is that the 13-2 over 2 years against the G-5 doesn't include a single good G-5 team. (By good, let's say a top 60 or even 70 nationwide team). So while the record here is good, we've only beaten crap and have two losses against crap. That is not to say that we're not better, and better off, than we were four years ago. We are light years ahead of that. But when I view us as closer to being in the 70s, where the computers have us, to 41, as shown above, that's why.

We all focus on who our P-4 opponents are. We really need to do better playing more mediocre G-5 schools instead of so many horrible ones.

Next fall? You’re going to walk away now and not update us with rankings after this week and bowl season? Quitter. (Just kidding. I thank you for providing these weekly updates and look forward to them).

Pretty interesting week 14:
UConn on top at 41
Behated Duke next at 42
Toledo third
Syracuse and BC much closer to the bottom than the top
Colorado State absolutely living in the basement

Oh @businesslawyer, now you've done it. I've updated the rankings again ... just because. And because I didn't figure TA would do another ranking after a few conference games, lol.

"Duke’s ACC championship win moves the Blue Devils up a couple spots to No. 40, while UConn slides up with them thanks to the earlier head-to-head win."
